You know it is hard for me to imagine as I throw on shorts and sandals and run off to one of my son’s T-Ball games that some of you in other parts of the country are looking at something like this on the 1st day of April instead. BRRRRR….
I got this picture in an e-mail from my Dad this morning, who by the way for those of you wondering- is doing great! He is back to his old self and his old tricks, probably chopping too much wood, plowing too much snow, and busy building or fixing something in his barn.
Nature played a good old trick on him this morning, only it’s not a trick. This is what he saw this morning at 6:30 when he walked out the door. My parents live in a small town in the woods on a Cove in what my father likes to call “God’s Country”, and yes they really live in the woods. But as I look at all this snow, I sure am thankful to be wearing shorts and sandals again and to be living in Sunny Florida. And I hope for those of you who got snow today- you can manage to stay warm!
-Thanks for the picture Dad!

I live in Fargo, ND and find that picture to be absolutely breathtaking! Fargo just won the Weather Channel toughest weather competition this morning as we approach another snow storm on Sunday with the potential of 6″ more inches of snow. Just as the town has 3 million sand bags on reserve to save it as the Red River rises to the 2nd highest crest on record. Be blessed with what you have.. as we chose this lifestyle.. oh and watch Tball games with flakes coming from the sky!
Thank you for everything you do with your blog, as we are saving money and hopefully someday can experience shorts and flip flop weather in March!
That’s beautiful!
It appears here(Ohio) as if we are going from winter straight in to summer. Then again, it is Ohio and where else can you wear a parka in the morning and a bikini in the afternoon?
LOL Lisa!
Hey kerry, that really is beautiful! By any chance do you know what’s up with the forum? I can’t get on it…
I live in Ohio and we got that snow a few days ago..Just got back from Florida last week and it was beautiful and sunny!! Went from going to the beach one day and having a fire the next. I always say I;m moving to Florida…haven’t managed to talk my husband into that just yet
!!!
I’m glad your dad is doing well, Kerry. What a beautiful picture! As I sit in sunny and 70 in So Cal, it’s hard to believe others are still freezing!
I live in Grand Forks, ND, and we have something like that this morning. It should melt quickly….Teres~I didn’t know about the storm coming! Jeesh!! Enough already!
Thanks for all you do Kerry!
Beautiful picture! I would love to be wearing flip flops and shorts. I live in Tennessee and it a cloudy and cool 50 degrees with rain on the way.
I too live by Fargo, ND. LOVE all the work you do so we can save money!! Yes we are looking at another snow storm this Sunday while we already still have feet of snow still on the ground. So glad we are preparing early for the flood this year as they are projecting levels of 2 years ago, which was devestating! Thank goodness for snowblowers and sandbags!
Yup, this is exactly what it looks like here in WI too.
Really??? I’m origonally from MA!!! My brother used to live in Orange/Athol area and now lives in Garder. (Gahd-na)
Thankfully Im in FL now and dont have this to deal with
Hey Janet- ROFL from the “Gahd-na” nothing like a Massachusetts twang and I know it well.
I’m in southeastern MA, and in ’96, we had a blizzard on AFD. Mother Nature clearly has a sense of humour. At least yesterday’s snow didn’t accumulate!
Yup, I live in Quincy, MA and we had the same thing as your Dad. But his view is much nicer, I get the view of the expressway and ALL of the bumper to bumper traffic! As least the snow switch to rain and we are not getting more like some of you! We are moving to FL in 2013!!!! Finally my husband is ready for the “shorts & sandals”!!!!!!
What a beautiful photo, my friend lives in Templeton, MA. I myself live about 1 hour east of that area. Can’t wait for the warmer weather to hit this area, I thought we were done with the snow weeks ago
Kids enjoyed the school delay though.
Ya’ll come on down to Louisiana its 84 here!! :0) however I would pick florida over La any day!
I live in MA, not too far from Orange. It stinks that we got a bunch of snow today, but I suppose it could be worse, we could have gotten over a foot! It’s happened before…. lol
I’m from MA…not to far from Orange
We just got back from Orlando this past Wednesday…let’s just say this snow makes me want to go back
I can’t even imagine living in weather like that of the picture (esp. in April). We live in San Antonio and the high temp. today was 93 !!!
