I know some of you are super-frustrated about not being able to print some coupons at Target.com that you can clearly see, and I can definitely understand the frustration. In  my opinion, the software Target uses to power and or update their coupons has much room for improvement, but it is what we have and what we must make do with.

It is pure speculation on my part, but I believe this sometimes happens when a coupon has reached its overall designated print limit. And while it would be nice to know with maybe a statement across the coupon like “print limit reached” or for them to disappear completely like they usually do, it’s not always what happens. Instead, one is left scratching their head at the message that appears saying you’ve already printed your limit when in fact you may not have printed at all.

I am fairly certain that at this moment in time- no one will be able to print any of the following coupons that may still be visible and perhaps driving you absolutely crazy right now. If you are seeing others that won’t print for you either- try going straight to Target.com and then scrolling down to the coupons link at the bottom of the page. Even if that clears some of them for you, it is likely you may still end up with the following visible but non-working coupons…

$2/1 Bed Pillow (Fieldcrest Luxury, Room Essentials or Target Home) Target Coupon x8/13
.75/1 up & up™ First Aid Item ETS Target Coupon x8/13
$1/1 up & up™ Item $3 or Higher Target Coupon x8/13
$1/2 Sandwich Bread AND Eggs Target Coupon x8/13
$5/1 Room Essentials® Bath Furniture Item Target Coupon x8/13

Sometimes it takes as long as a day or two, but they usually eventually disappear, and rarely return in the near future. So while this post certainly doesn’t solve your problem about printing the coupons, you at least know that you are not alone, and you didn’t do anything to cause it. It’s just an unfortunate batch of what I like to call “ghost coupons” that you can certainly see, but will likely no longer become a printed reality for anyone.

My best advice? Target usually issues new coupons in the wee hours on Sundays. I work hard to sort them all out and publish them sometime Sunday morning. If it’s possible, you should print whatever you think you may have interest in right away. While some new coupons sometimes pop up here and there- I try and post about any new ones as soon as I see them. But the majority of their coupons arrive Sunday morning, so it’s a good time to check in and see what’s new and what you may want.

Thanks for the info on the ghost coupons. I selected about 16 to print last night and I was thinking I was losing my mind this AM trying to figure out where I misplaced some of them. Now I realize they were the ghost coupons.

  2. amanda says:

I was unable to print any of the target coupons sunday morning. I kept getting an error and now it thinks i have reached the print limit on the coupons. I am really bummed.

  3. Heather says:

I agree. Thanks for the info :)

  4. Michelle H. says:

I was just now trying to print some of these – so bummed.
Thanks for the post – I did come back here to double check if you had any info and you did!
The “ghost-coupon” graphic is a nice touch :-)

  5. Jennifer C says:

Yes, thank you for clearing that up! I appreciate everything you are doing…Love your website!

  6. Brittany says:

I can’t print ANYTHING! I keep trying to print the new coupons the I am 100% certain I have not printed and it will not let me print anything. Even if I just click for 1 random coupon (not the problem ones) I get the message “WE’RE SORRY You’ve reached the limit of coupons you’re currently eligible to receive. Be on the lookout for more promotions and coupons in the future.”

Is Target limiting the amount of coupons you can print in a certain time now?

  7. kristin peterson says:

I never have been able to even see any of those Qs.

If any one has the pillow coupon printed and your not going to use it I would appreciate it if you could some how get it to me. I really, really!!! need some new pillows and I was bummed when it wouldnt print.

  10. Tia says:

I had no problem printing them on IE, but couldn’t print on the latest version of Firefox. I was able to at least get 1 copy of them on my computer when I switched over to IE.

  11. Danielle says:

The problem I had yesterday was that it was stuck on the processing page right before they print..but it never got past that page & then when I went back later the coupons were gone and I had reached my limit of printing them out because there system said I already printed them. This is so frustrating because I print coupons off the Target site every week and have NEVER had a problem. :(

  12. Alison says:

I wrote to Target, like Tara, and this is the response I received:

    Dear Alison,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you had with our printable coupons feature on Target.com.

Many of our coupons have print limits – per guest and in total. If/when you exceed those limits, the coupon will no longer appear for you or you may receive a messaging stating “you have exceeded your household limit” or “this coupon is no longer available”. I was also getting that and then decided to print that just one and it print. Instead of printing multiples, I just printed that one that didn’t print on it’s own and it went through. Not sure why, but it happened.

  14. Christie says:

I am frustrated because I CAN NOT PRINT ANY TARGET COUPONS AT ALL! I have tried the various “fixes” found online, and none have worked for me. I also contacted Target via email and got a email similar to Tara, and contacted again to see if you can print them at the registry kisosks, (no you can’t, I tried). One emial said that it won’t work for me because I have windows 7, but my friend has windows 7 and prints them just fine. UGH! I can print fine from other coupon sites, it just the stupid “coupon activator” I have loaded it like 50 times, and it says it loads, and will print when I close the window, I do and nothing ever prints. So frustrating!

  15. Traci says:

Whew! I thought I was losing my marbles when I couldn’t get ANY Target coupons to print. And I haven’t printed any for a good two weeks.

  16. Brittany says:

@ Christie and Traci: I had the same problem and posted above. I was using Firefox, but once I switched to Safari none of the “ghost” coupons were there and I could print just fine the ones that were available. Try switching browsers to see if that helps.

  17. Marlene M. says:

Have you ladies try to remove the app from your computer? I have an old dinosaur of a computer in my kitchen that was giving me that problem just this morning, I uninstalled it then installed it back on and it let me print finally, at first nothing was printing at all. Hope this help.

  18. Sarah says:

I wonder what the real problem is… I tried printing the new coupons Sunday morning at 2am (PST) and they wouldn’t print… That seems early for the print limit to be reached.

  19. kayla says:

I really wanted to $1 off a up and up of $3 or more coupon but it wouldn’t let me print it. It said that I have reached to amount of coupons that I could print. I was really bummed. :(

  20. Joy says:

I did the same as Brittany. I installed Safari yesterday on 12 y.o. son’s computer after Firefox and IE wouldn’t work on my computer. I printed my coupons from my son’s computer because mine said ” limit was reached” even though they never printed. So I suggest Safari.

I also wonder if it would help to try a System Restore back to a day when you know Target coupons printed successfully for you. Just a suggestion. I have feeling that maybe some automatic updates on Firefox and IE may be the problem.

  21. Anne says:

I was so frustrated on Sunday. I have Firefox and couldn’t get it to print. I switched back to IE and it printed. I wonder if their software isn’t up to date with the version of Firefox I have.

  22. Leeann says:

I am on the old dial-up and I have noticed that I have to pay attention to the printer status box on the Target coupon page (left side) to make sure it shows my printer is installed. Somedays it is on, but never on Sunday after new coupons are loaded. Otherwise it will ask me to install an activator. Hope this helps at least some of you.

  23. Ginger says:

I also emailed target and got the following..which was so very NOT helpful.. do they think we are all unable to operate a computer and that this is our first time on their site?

  24. naomi says:

Has anyone noticed that the Target coupons all have the same number on the bar code?Okay,so I just noticed that.Does that mean we can copy each coupon? And this question is for Target coupons only, the manu.coupons all have different numbers.

  25. Pen says:

I got a pillow coupon to print yesterday. However, today on a different computer the coupons were no longer viewable. My funny is that I bought a pillow for my .50 cents. I thought to myself “don’t forget the pillow on the bottom of the basket”. Guess what I did….forgot the pillow on the bottom of basket. I remembered about a second later and pulled around to the next row to get my pillow and it was already gone. Cart was still there and the cart attendant was down alittle bit further. i have a feeling it was the person getting her kids out of the car. Just hope who ever took it needed it more than I did. :)

  26. Amanda says:

… Are you serious Naomi? No it doesnt mean we can copy the coupons. The numbers are also not all the same otherwise, how would the coupon know to take the $$ off the product you’re buying? Please use coupons responsibly.

  27. Saving in Savannah says:

I checked out the coupons this morning on Target before heading out to work and several of the coupons have been reset! The ones I recognized were for the $1.00 sharpie, $.50 scotch tape, and there was a new $.50 colgate max item! I got mine and will be at Target on my lunch break!

  28. carrie r says:

i tried my coupons this morning….. 7/13/11 8:31am and I am not having any troubles…. some of the coupons I have already printed have even been RE-SET like the sharpie coupons, paper mate, scotch tape, colgate max coupons….and the expiration dates are even better than they were before……

usually I am the one who is having technical issues…..

  29. Missy G says:

My Mom printed coupons on Sunday. She had never printed any of the new ones and it said they printed where they list them all after they have printed. When I went to the printer to get them for her there were 2 sheets of paper with the coupon outline that said “you’ve reached the household print limit” So we wasted ink and 2 sheets of paper for them to tell us that we couldn’t print it. Really Target? You couldn’t just NOT print them? :o )

Has anyone else had this issue?

  30. Bill U says:

I have the same problem. Acitivator says it loads but coupons never print. Any fixes since July?

  31. KIm F says:

I have the same problem as Bill U. The print activator says it has successfully installed but when I try to print coupons, I get a message that tells me I need to install the print activator. Viscous, viscous, circle. I’d like to know who I can contact at target for help.

  32. Jessica Perez says:

I have the SAME issue as Bill U and Kim F….. I install the coupon printer… it says it has successfully installed and that when i hit Close, my coupons will Print automatically… Then NOTHING happens… At all !!! And then when i try again,,, same thing over and over and over. !!! SO VERY FRUSTRATING !!!!! ANYBODY have any HELP or Answers !!!???? Please??

  33. Angela Greene says:

I am getting an error in OSX Chrome that says it doesn’t support Java 7 which Target coupons require. If that is the case why does Target say its a supported platform?

I have had very spotty success with Target coupons in a range of browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) on the Mac. It seems Target’s system is overly sensitive to the configurations, has no meaningful error messaging, so people spend a lot of time going through 12 pages of coupons just to be left hanging on a connecting screen.

    Needs a total revamp.

  34. Renee Pierce says:

Have NEVER been able to print Target coupons. Says it has installed successfully, then nothing. Doesn’t even communicate with printer….even bought a different printer, still nothing. Wish Target would do something about this.

  35. Janie says:

We just got the new Windows operating system and now I can’t download the Target coupon printer using Chrome. It said hit close and coupons will print. They didn’t. I went to Internet Explorer and that works. So you may want to try using Internet Explorer for coupon printing.

  36. Teri says:

Hello, I am also unable to print the Target cpns. I get a “you have reached your print limit”, when I have not even printed one coupon out. Also, When I go back to look at the coupon page, all of the coupons now say, “limit reached”.

I used to be able to print coupons out in firefox and explorer no issues. This is recent. I have the proper configuration on my laptop, but I get no help from the Catalina people and so far Target has been less than helpful.

Is there anyone that can help???? I tried printing out less popular cpns in my mix of cpns just to see if it might be the volume on the cpn itself, and those did not print out either.

This is enough to make me stop shopping at Target forever.

  37. Christine says:

I’m having the same problems too. I’m getting ‘you have reached your limit’ and it hasn’t printed one coupon. I went thru all 16 pages of coupons and checked off many and only 2 of them printed. It said: ‘The following coupons did not print:
Coupons may not print because the maximum allowed prints may have been reached
between the time the coupon was presented to you and the time you tried to print the coupon. (Umm, I printed them right away, don’t know what’s up with that)
This may also occur if you had previously printed the maximum for that coupon,
but we were unable to detect that before your print started’

I haven’t printed coupons from the Target site in months so I know I haven’t printed the maximum for that coupon. It told me I had to download a newer version of the ‘coupon printer’ which I did and then I got that message and only 2 of the probably 20 coupons that I selected.

  38. Amber says:

I have had trouble with it printing only coupons I did NOT select, and then saying that I printed a bunch of coupons that I never got!!! I have emailed customer service about the issue twice and all they tell me is “we are working to fix the issue as fast as we can.” It would be nice if they would compensate us for all the frustration…a $5 or $10 gift card in the mail as an apology would be great. Considering I had $22 worth of savings selected the other day and only ONE $1 coupon printed!!
