  4. Tammy S. says:

It’s still a good deal even without the Target insert Q’s. $2.00 for 4 deodorants is darn good!

  5. Kim says:

i live in Orange County, CA. I get the LA Times and OC Register delivered. I didn’t get the Target insert in either paper :-( Who did get one?

  6. Mary says:

I received the Target Insert , I am in Michigan.

  7. Bobbi Jean says:

I picked up the early Sun Pioneer Press edition in central MN and the Target insert was in there. Havent gotten my Sunday paper yet to look. It was a thin green insert-nearly missed it in mine. Wasnt in with the rest of them.

  13. lily says:

did this deal and all my coupons beeped except one of the dove target ones. cashier just checked the items and k1d.. no problems. got my $5 gc!

  14. Amy says:

Please correct if I’m wrong. I live in Houston, TX and I went to Super Target near my house. And cashier won’t accept all of my coupon. Then the Supervisor or Manager come and she told me that target policy is strict on one manufacturer and one target coupon per one transaction. Is it true?

  15. Elizabeth says:

@Toni…I found them in the Saturday Oakland Press.

  16. Ellen says:

Tried this twice. First time I only had 3 deodorants, not 4. Cancelled that transaction. Went back and got my fourth deodorant, women’s Dove Ultimate. Went back to check stand. The cashier gave me a $5.00 gift card, then said I could only use one manufacturer coupon and I had printed the wrong Target coupon from My total was still $11. something, I canceled that transaction as well. I need to look for the Target insert in my two newspapers and try again.

  17. Jamie says:

Me and my couponing partner got 40 deodorants today. We did 10 different transactions and just kept rolling the $5 gift card. We spent $5 on tax and still have a $5 gift card for later. Its a great deal and now we each have 10 womens and 10 mens deodorants each for our household!

  18. Mary says:

    I purchased the Detroit news

  19. Amy says:

We never get the Target insert in my paper in Indiana. : ( Does anyone else?

  20. Amber says:

The B1G1 Dove MQ says “Limit One Coupon Per Purchase On Product Specified” My Target is extremely picky on what coupons they take, does this mean I can not use 2 B1G1 Q’s in the same transaction??

  21. Amber says:

    @ Kim~ I got the insert in 2 out of my 3 LA Times…

  22. Kerry says:

@Amy- the Target coupon policy is one manufacturer’s coupon and 1 target coupon per ITEM, not transaction. This is why I always recommend printing the coupon policy and bringing it with you to the store. While Target printables do limit 1 per transaction – you can certainly have more than 1 in a transaction if they are different from one another. And target INSERT coupons do not limit 1 identical per transaction. you can print the policy here- hth

  23. Amber says:

Thanks, Kerry :) I like to have all my ducks in a row when I shop at Target as they are the pickiest of all the places I shop when it comes to using Q’s. It’s unfortunate, too, since that is my favorite place to shop!

  24. Sarah says:

We didn’t get those Target coupons here in Denver (bummer) but I actually had a $1/1 Target coupon from a home mailer for the Dove deoderant and used two B1G1 coupons so all four deoderants cost me $1 out of pocket! Still pretty darn cheap even though it’s not free!

  25. Amanda says:

I went to Target today to get these deodorants and I had 2 of the b1g1 mens deodorant if you bought the womans and then 2 of the target ultimate dove deodorant coupons and the guy wouldn’t let me use both of them because he said that I can’t use two coupons on the same product even after I explained to him how a b1g1 coupon works, that I can still use a coupon on the item that I am paying for. Needless to say I will bring the coupon policy with me from now on. I think I made him mad but oh well I was following what there policy says and what I know is right but apparently some of them don’t look at their policy to know what is right. I don’t misuse coupons just because I don’t want to make it more difficult for myself or anyone else that use coupons.

  26. Laurel H. says:

Thanks for figuring this one out; I went and got 4 today for my $5 card! Woot! If I could figure out how to print more Target Dove Men + Care coupons, I’d get more.

I did not have any of the issues above. Before I left home, I carefully reread the Target coupon policy, and I carry all of the local store’s coupon policies in my coupon binder, ready to show a cashier/manager if necessary. The coupon policy does state that, basically, for every “pair” of items in a BOGO transaction, one Target coupon can be stacked with one manufacturer’s coupon. So, since this transaction had two “pairs,” I used two Target coupons and 2 manufacturer’s coupons–just as you suggested.

I am not sure the Target insert mattered; at least where I live, there are no coupons printed in the insert. I print my Target coupons directly from the Target website.

Note: I had to point out to my cashier that the manufacturer’s coupon did not scan properly, and she had to manually input the value of the free deodorant for each pair. Hope this helps!

  27. christine says:

You really need to watch target the past 3 times we have gone in have been overcharged or had coupons not go through right including the deodorant deal, but didnt realize til we got home 30 miles away and after calling back to talk to manager get the LOD in charge who could have cared less. Anyway this has been an awesome sight but I will no longer be shopping at Target.

  28. megan says:

So I went to Target today to buy my Dove deoderants and the cashier and a manager told me that I could not do this deal because I am getting buy one get one free so I am basically only buying 2 dove products and not 4. She said it was a new policy because of all of the couponing going on. I had a copy of the coupon policy that I printed 2 months ago and it said nothing of the sorts. She said that it has been in effect for about a month now. For some reason I don’t feel this is right. The $5 gift card is promted before I even give my coupons, so why would my bogo coupon make a difference? They are getting reimbursed for that product anyways. Someone please explain this to me. =/

  29. Tony says:

@Megan You explained it pretty well yourself actually and your absolutely correct. The fact that it prompted to scan a gift card is proof in itself that they should have allowed you to get the gift card. The only way their argument MIGHT hold up is if the BOGO coupon were a store coupon, since TQ’s directly reduce the item’s selling price. They could conceivably say that you didn’t buy that item and back up their statement by showing the item was “sold” for $0.00 on the receipt. Whereas with a manufacturer coupon, the receipt will show the retail price of the product and then will have a $ off amount on a separate line, regardless of it being a BOGO coupon or otherwise. The register and your receipt shows 4 dove products, each of them scanned and sold at the $3.49 price price and since the register and receipt treat BOGO MQ’s as a glorified $-off/1 coupon, you DID purchase that product.

I guess the simplest way to respond to that cashier and manager would be to say, “Well if I didn’t buy 4 products, then why am I being charged tax for 4 products?”

As long as they are simply misinformed on policy and the way coupons work, then this will get them to side with you. But I have sneaking suspicion that they are purposely trying to prevent you from doing this deal for reasons that have nothing to do with policies and procedures. I have 2 Targets nearby and one of them I have all but stopped going to because of them denying coupons based on their hatred (i can’t think of a better word) towards coupons and the people who coupon.
