Aug 292011

I heard from Karen who let me know that the single Febreze Warmers and the Febreze Noticeables Decor Warmer & Cover set are included in the FREE $5 Gift Card wyb 5 select Febreze at $2.50 each thru 9/3. I completely missed this yesterday, and honestly I am so sore from moving, that I don’t think I have the strength to make it back there today. But for those of you heading out, there was a hefty $3/1 Febreze Warmer in the 8-28-11 PG that you can use to turn this into a money maker!

According to the Target Coupon policy- a coupon that is for more than the amount of the item will be adjusted down. But this may not happen at all stores since the coupons are scanning without having to be forced through. This additional coupon value might end up getting applied to other things in your transaction so be prepared for it. When using these $3/1 coupons on this deal – you must also be prepared for the $5 from the Gift Card to be applied as $5 in coupon value. This means your final total of your transaction cannot go below $5 after using manufacturer’s coupons.

So here’s an example if your store does not adjust the coupons down…

DEAL IDEA: Buy 2 Febreze Warmers ($2.50) & Buy 3 Set & Refresh ($2.50) = $12.50
-$6.00 (use two $3/1 Febreze Noticeables Warmer, any 08-28-11 PG
-$3.00 (use three $1/1 Febreze Set & Refresh 8-28-11 P&G x9/30
= $3.50 – $5 Gift Card back wyb 5 Febreze
= $1.50 money maker after coupons and Gift Card.
*IMPORTANT*- you’ll notice the above deal shows my total as being $3.50 after coupons & before Gift Card. This means I would have to add in another $1.50 worth of merchandise in order for all my coupons to scan properly. I can just add in a gallon of milk or something and I will be fine. No matter how you mix and match  your deal- just remember that AFTER coupons your total OOP cannot go below the $5 you are earning back from the Gift Card. Otherwise your coupons will start scanning as -$0.50, and then $0.00.

One other thing to note- is that the Set & Refresh & the Air Effects come in a Gain Scent. This gives you another coupon option as there is a $1/1 Febreze with Gain Product, Any 08-14-11 RP.

But even if you only have one lonely P&G insert from yesterday’s paper to your name- you can do the following and still come out with a super nice deal…

DEAL IDEA: Buy 1 Febreze Warmer ($2.50), Buy 1 Air Effects ($2.50),
Buy 1 Set & Refresh ($2.50) and 2 other items at $2.50 = $12.50
-$1/1 Febreze Set & Refresh 8-28-11 P&G x9/30
-$1/1 Febreze Air Effects 8-28-11 P&G x9/30
-$3/1 Febreze Noticeables Warmer, any 08-28-11 PG
= $7.50 – $5 Target Gift Card back wyb 5 select Febreze
= $2.50 for 5 or .50 cents each after coupons and gift card

There is also a mail in rebate for $3.50 back by mail wyb Febreze Noticeables Warmer HERE x6/30/12. I read it over a couple times, and it does not seem to have any stipulations about not using a coupon in order to qualify for the rebate.

-Thank you so much to Karen for the pictures and such a detailed report and thanks Jenny for the reminder about the rebate!

i’m kind of excited to get some febreze with gain! I LOVEEEEE the smell of gain.

  2. Delilah says:

This is so confusing.. Can I buy 5 of the Febreze Noticeables Warmer and use 5 of the $3 coupon?

  3. Jen says:

Delilah, there is a limit of 4 like coupons in one transaction, so you could buy 4 and use 4 of the $3 coupons and buy 1 of the other Febreze items and use a different coupon.. just make sure you have enough other items in your cart to absorb the overage (if your store does not adjust down to your coupons).

  4. Delilah says:

    Thank you, Jen!

  5. Libby says:

Soooo, i was at the fav big bullseye this am… Got 4 warmers and 1 spray. Used 4 $3 warmer and 1 $1 spray mq. They all scanned! Woohoo! Total $15 – $13 mq= $2! and i got my $5 gc!! Yea!!!! Love it when it works in my favor! ;-0

  6. Amy says:

I did this today and it did NOT work…. i got 3 of the noticeables warmer units and 2 of the set & refresh and it did not trigger the gift card. The CS person said noticeables are not included so I got all my coupons and money back

  7. Mandy says:

I just got back from Target.. I bought 2 of the Noticeable Warmer Units, 2 of the Set & Refresh, and one of the Air Effects and all 5 rang up at $2.50 each…Subtotal $12.50. I used a $3/1 Noticeable Warmer, two $1/1 Set & Refresh, $1/1 Air Effects, and I had a $1/1 Noticeable Warmer coupon. Total after coupons was $5.50 and I got a $5 gift card back. No beepage, no problems! What an awesome deal! There WAS signage at my store on the Units too, so Amy maybe it just wasn’t at your store?

  8. Cassie says:

@Amy, at my store the Noticeables warmer units had the sign with the GC deal. If yours has the sign, you should take it to guest services and maybe they will override it or just give you a GC. I didn’t try it yet b/c I ordered my q’s and am waiting to get those but my Target is great and I don’t anticipate any problems. Especially since the signs are up! HTH!

  9. Delilah says:

Libby, I thought your total oop cannot be below the $5?

  10. Amy says:

I am going to go back because I want to get the Nivea body wash now too so I will try it again hehe

**this is the first time it has ever NOT triggered the gift card for me on a deal :(

  11. Brandy says:

Would this work on clearance Febreze products? I spotted quite a few fragrances of Air Effects on clearance and I have a handful of coupons for $1/1 from my Mr. Clean Magic Eraser boxes…just wondering if this was a good time to use them but haven’t ever tried a GC deal with clearance before.

  12. Kerry says:

@Amy- maybe one of the set & refresh scents is the troublemaker – you can always bring stuff up to GS or register and ask them to look it up in the system for you (I’m just thinking that maybe there is a certain package/color/scent etc that is causing the trouble and not registering as included for some reason.)

  13. Ashley says:

Brandy-the clearance ones are not included in the deal (I work at Target).

  14. Dana says:

I did the deal with four regular Febreze items and one clearance item. The GC was not triggered. Guest Services did end up giving to me, but now I realize it was because clearance isn’t supposed to work.

  15. Natalie says:

Are you allowed to do multiple transactions like the 5 febreze? Meaning, if I bought 15 total febreze items, could I break them up into 3 seperate transactions? I’ve not had problems at other stores doing this, but didn’t know how Target is. TY!

  16. astrid says:

I bought 4 of the warmer units and 1 Set & Refresh total $12.50 The register accepted the four $3 MQ with no problems, when she scanned the $1 MQ for the set & refresh the register would only take off .12 for that last coupon. So I decided to keep my $1 coupon and pay .50 oop and get my $5 Gift Card.
What scenario could I do to have all of my coupons work properly? Any suggestions???

  17. Amanda M says:

This question is off topic but I was wondering I deleted my target mobile coupons by mistake any idea on how to get them back?

  18. Danielle says:

So I got this deal on sunday! and it worked great! I am wondering though if I am stuck with the warmers and no *cheep* option for the refills! I noticed we only have a .50 coupon, and the refills are so expensive! and we don’t even get one in the warmer! Anyone know where to get them cheaper?

  19. Kerry says:

Hey Astrid- can you tell me exactly what you bought? if you didn’t buy anything else- I am very curious to know- since my store’s system STILL will not allow you to go below the $5. Did you have anything else in your transaction?

  20. Brandy says:

    @ Dana & @ Ashley…thank you for the help! I will hang on to my q’s! :)

  21. Kelcie says:

Didn’t work for me…cashier refused to adjust the coupon down! Errrrr

  22. Agatka says:

    @ Amanda M
    text offers to Target (827438)

  23. Shelly says:

I found a rebate offer to go along with this – not sure if this item is offered in the sale or not – but it’s worth a shot:

  24. joy says:

The Set & Refresh were not part of the deal at my Target. So I bought 2 warmers and 3 air effects. Total was $12.50 after coupons it was $4.50 so I had to add a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup for .50. I paid $5 and got back $5 Yea!! My next order I bought the Nivea for $3.99 and 20 pack Duracell for $10.99. I had stacks on both products that brought it down to $10.49 plus I used the $5 gift card. So basically I bought all of the above for about the same price as a regular customer would have paid for the batteries alone.

  25. Astrid says:

    Hey Kerry- I bought 1 banana @ .24, 1 bag of chips @.50, 4 warming units @ $2.50, and 1 set & refresh @ $2.50.
I used four of the $3 warming unit q’s and I got .05 credit for my reusable bag. My total came to $1.19 plus tax. I wanted to use the $1 q for the set & refresh, but when it scanned at .12 I asked her to void that coupon and let me have it back.
    Thanks for your help.

  26. joy says:

I was thinking the same thing too. I did buy the 2 warmers tonight and I bought my daughter a warmer at Walmart yesterday. Both her and I are going to fill out the rebate for $3.50. So we have decided when we get the rebate check back will use that with the coupon we have to get the refills somewhat reasonable.

  27. Danielle says:

Joy, That is a good idea!! Hopefully we will find a GREAT sale on them somewhere as well :)

Am I understanding the rebate that you are only allowed to do it once? Just making sure I am doing it right, but also not shorting myself when I bought more then one :)

I am very new to couponing in general, so many things to learn :)

  28. nell says:

Can anyone tell me exactly how this deal works? For example does it have to register in the computer and tell the cashier to give us the $5 gift card? Or can they see the 5 items and manually give it to us? I tried this deal tonight with 4 set & refresh & 1 air effects (and a $1 q for each) I also bought some other items with coupons but I dont see how that would trigger it to not work. Also they rang up for 2.69 instead of 2.50 but the cashier would not change the price, saying it was only for certain scents.

Anyways it apparently did not come up in the system and even when we asked a manager she went back to where the Febreze was and simply looked at the tags and told me ‘that scent’ wouldnt work.

In the ad it states “free $5 gift card when you buy any five Febreze items listed” Then the items and their prices – it says nothing about specific scents.

I didnt push it because I had 3 transactions and didnt want to burn any bridges – but now that I have come home and looked at the ad again I am pretty mad that it didnt work – the wording on the ad says any so I feel I should have got the gift card! Is this perhaps only a regional deal?

Any suggestions for what to do? I think I have 3 options – 1. go in and talk to CS tomorrow, 2. call corporate, or 3-buy the scents with the tags saying it will work and exchange them later (but I would have to collect that many coupons again!).

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks for everyones help!

  29. Carol says:

I understand that you would have to purchase enough of other things to cover the possible overage from the coupons. So if you got 4 warmers, 1 other Febreze item ,and used
    4 x $3 warmer coupons +
1 x $1 coupon (air effects or whatever)
your product total is $12.50, but your total coupons would equal $13, which is .50 more than the amount of the actual items. So you’d have to have at least .50 in some other item(s). But if the Target system in your area requires that you also must purchase $5 in additional items, besides the .50, that is just not right! I’m not even sure what my local Target stores are doing, because I was previously disgusted by the requirement to have to buy other items just so that my coupons would scan. So I haven’t shopped at Target with coupons in a long time. Can anyone in central Texas tell me if the system would require that additional $5 in purchases to match the amount of the gift card?
And, if the system does have that unethical requirement, why not have another item rung up that is over $5, scan the coupons, and then void that item at the end?

  30. nickyB says:

I went to Target Monday morning & not 1 warmer was left! So I got 4 set & refresh & 1 air effects. My out of pocket was more but worth it because I got the last 5 items of the pumpkin scent. I really don’t want to buy the warmers if I can’t use them. Seems wasteful to me. The warmers were all out of stock at Wal-mart too.

  31. fabiola says:

any body want to trade some coupons for the noticable warmers coupons? I didnt receive any in my sunday newspaper :(

  32. Amanda M says:

this worked out great for me today, got one candle, one of the gain spray one set and refresh, one noticeables and another spray paid 6 something and got back the 5 dollar gift card! i also got the free visine which did beep but got anyway and two rimmel eyeshadows and the 2 dollar coupon found on FB was invalid but the manager gave it to me anyway! soo super awesome day for me :) Thank you so much for posting!

  33. Ellu says:

How much were the candles. I did not see them as a part of the deal.
    Thank you

  34. Kerry says:

    @Ellu- They were $5

  35. Pat says:

Why does Target adjust the coupons down? Don’t they get paid full price for them when they are redeemed?

  36. Amy says:

DOes the warmer come with a refill or is it just the warmer unit? Thanks!

  37. allicatmeow says:

@Danielle: the rebate form says “limit one rebate per name, address, or envelope.”

  38. nell says:

-Amy- It is just the warmer unfortunately! The refills are a bit pricey but after coupon the warmer would be free (and a 50 cent money maker if they dont adjust the coupon down) just be sure the final cost is $5 or up – I had to add something to my total today! Good luck : )
ps also click on that free after rebate link for the warmer if you want your ‘money back’ for it

  39. Carol says:

None of the stores have the Febreze Noticeables. Well specifically, one far away store has 3, a few have 1 in stock, and the rest have 0.

  40. Carol says:

You don’t think they’re going to extend this sale another week do you??? The stores have apparently not tried to re-stock. You can go to, and then put in the search window the DPCI # of the item you’re looking for. In this case, the DPIC # is 003-04-0598. Then you click the red box which says “change location” and put in your zip code, or city, state. It won’t tell you specific amounts at the various nearby locations, but it will tell you if it’s “out of stock” or “limited stock”, which is what all of the nearby stores here say.
