Apr 122012

So I managed to sneak out early afternoon to try my luck at 70% Off Easter and I was so happy to find still a lot left at my store. I found quite a few super-cheap goodies- like Kraft Bunny Mallows marshmallows for .35 cents a bag, and I found a ton of Easter-themed bags of Pepperidge Farm Goldfish for just .59 cents each so I bought six ‘cuz I love ‘em too. :)  I also found a Fisher Price Little People Wheelies car and used the 10% Off Select Fisher-Price Items (including Little People) Target Web Coupon x5/12.

There were also still lots of PAAS products at my store so I picked up a pack of the Doodle Pens for next year. I also bought spring themed stickers, a craft kit, an awesome mini Bundt Cake Pan, window clings, plastic eggs, and some easter grass. I found a tin pirate pail for $1.50 I will use as a catchall in Austin’s room, Hot Wheels Puzzle Erasers for .59 cents and I picked up a few other things for a friend. I spent a total of $16.51 and saved $55.02 and successfully resisted the urge to buy any chocolate! ;)

Don’t forget to take a good look around the store too- sometimes not everything will make it to the clearance area and it’s worth scoping out the store a bit. I found my Goldfish on an endcap up near the front register- and it’s probably why it was so well stocked since there was no clearance sign in sight! I hope you all find/found some great Easter clearance bargains today as well!

  10. Katie says:

This is always my question… how did you KNOW the goldfish would be discounted, if there was no sign and not in the clearance section? Just randomly thought you’d pick some up an scan it? That seems like a lot of scanning would have to happen to get lucky, no?

  11. Emily V says:

Help! I see there are other comments on the post, but nothing is showing up when I load the page!

  12. Kerry says:

@Katie- there were easter eggs on the package plus the goldfish on the front is wearing bunny ears and a bunny nose :)

  13. Keri P says:

Darn, I couldn’t find any marshmallows or Goldfish at our store – but it wasn’t a total loss. I got tons of socks for $0.30 each over at the dollar section, 2 packs of the Moshi Monster mega block blind bags, a little doll & 3 Jelly Belly scented bubbles @ $0.89 each (which will make great stocking stuffers later this year).

  14. Sarah says:

I also found Vanity Fair 200 count napkins with spring flowers on clearance for only $2.96. I used the stack you previously posted about to get a great deal!

  15. Autumn says:

I hesitated about buying the markers. You think they’ll last a whole year w/o drying out?

  16. Jue says:

i’m heading there after work. :)

  17. steph says:

My store was still at 50% today and 30% for some bagged candies. I’m going to be there bright and early tomorrow morning and hope it’s My Day for 70%. Of course I bought a few things anyway-including or especially the coconut and peanut butter M&M’s. Used the Target coupons so they were about $1.39 a bag!

  20. karl says:

I made a quick run back to the Easter section, had to get a prescription for my dd, found the Bunny Marshmallows for .35 a bag, grabbed 8, my dd thinks I am crazy. But hey my dh loves to eat these as a snack. Thanks for all your posts.

  23. Marcia says:

I found the chocolate dipped peeps for $.59 and still had 4 TQ for $.50 off so they were only .09 each. I am a peep lover and really like these. I’m the only one in the family who does so they are all mine!

  24. FashionB says:

  25. April says:

Thank you for the heads up on Goldfish. Ours didn’t show clearance & were still in the cracker section. I cleaned them out at $.59 a bag!! Oh & my Target still had tons of stuff & at 70% off. I’ve never really decorated much for Easter but next year my house will be decked out. According to my receipts (I went twice today), I saved about $200. :)

  26. Mindy says:

I wish my Target had that much stuff left! I went today and picked up a few things — but most everything was gone even the day after Easter. Oh well, I won’t complain about getting even a few things for 70% off :)

  27. Cynthia says:

My Taret had hardly anything left except candy, plastic eggs and grass. I did get some cheap travel puzzles and coloring books. But there wasn’t much!

  28. mary says:

Wow you hit the jackpot. Only if it would stop raining here would love to shop at my target. Maybe tomorrow?

  29. Rosemary says:

I scored tonight. I got those same pirate buckets and one with cupcake pattern for my daughter too. Also, an Easter egg tree for displaying colored eggs 90¢, Easter shape silicone pancake molds, and cookie decorator kits that have 12 pre made sugar cookies and come with colored frosting and sprinkles $3. I was planning on doing that this weekend anyway and now I don’t have to make the cookies. And then I checked around for other clearance in the store. I found a George Forman grill marked down from $65 to $16.50! people in the check out were admiring my find. Also got a Hamilton Beach soft serve ice cream maker for half price of $15. Two pairs of sweat pants for $5 each. and in the 70% off black dot $1 clearance I found packs of Spongebob and Dora ziploc style snack & sandwich bags for 30¢ each. I got 4 boxes. Left behind the Dora, cuz my son wouldn’t take those to school. I also found a storage shelf/rack for the laundry room marked down to $4 and a door draft guard marked down to $3. And in the toy department a Ballerina Dora doll that I had looked at on clearance last week when it was $11. Tonight I got it for $8. Will give to my daughter for her upcoming birthday. Such a great night. THANK YOU so much!!!! If it weren’t for this post I wouldn’t have gone tonight at all. thank you!!!!!!!!!

  30. Anu says:

wow Kerry.. your store had so much left.. my store had no bakeware.. no goldfish crackers..no toys.. but lots of decorative items left.. when do u think it’ll go 90% off…??

  31. Chelsea says:

I am surprised that you didn’t wait till 90% to do a big trip.

  32. Carrie says:

Check the baking aisle for $1/2 Pillsbury baking items peelies and get free cake mixes if your store has any left. I went to two Targets in my area and saw lots of plastic eggs, candy and marshmallows. I picked up four little people cars, a little people figures set, egg dye, and some cake mixes as well as the Magnum bars, Ortega items, and Lifesavers. Nothing too exciting but good deals nonetheless.

  33. dana says:

clothing was also 70% off too in the easter section! I got my daughter some tights for only 1.20 a pair!!!!

  34. Wow! Great haul:) Nice job!

  35. Amanda says:

I think my store must have gone down earlier. I stopped by after work & there was only like 1/8 of an aisle. I got one color/sticker book & that was it. They had no food items, bakeware or toys. It was some easter grass, plastic eggs, color books & that was about it. Pretty sad…

  36. maria h says:

I, am in san diego and target here had nothing but candy so sad I wanted to cry

  37. Teri says:

Thanks so much for letting us know about the Goldfish. I went to Target yesterday and got some stuff but never saw the Goldfish. So after reading your post, I went to a different Target today and scored on the Goldfish. It was $0.59 each and they were by the regular Goldfish in the crackers section with no signs that they were on clearance. I have a 3 year old so Goldfish is staple in our pantry. THANK YOU KERRY!

  38. pamela says:

I found the ready to bake pillsbury bunny cookies for $0.63 ea. Bought 4 used 2 $0.75/2 only payed 1.02 for all four.

  39. Naomi says:

  40. Erin says:

I went today and found a ton of the goldfish single serve milk type cartons on a rack by the full size bags and near the registers with Easter eggs on the side also on clearance. Normally .99 on clearance for .29 – will be perfect for soccer team snacks!! Not marked but they scanned clearance. No marshmallows though…

  41. Kimberly R. says:

I went yesterday and found a ton of candy on sale but my favorite buy was a cake pop kit by Duff from Ace of Cakes. It included everything in it (minus the cake pan) and it was on sale for $2.99. I was so excited and picked up some small plates for $0.60 each. I love clearance :)
