Check the wording on your manufacturer coupons carefully, as the Target where I shop has started to not allow stacking with a Target coupon if the MC has any wording similar to “cannot be combined with any other offer.” I guess it depends on whether the cashier reads every coupon or not, but it just happened to me this past Friday. So sad to say it may not be worth the gas to go to Target very often anymore. The closest one to me is a 25 mile drive. My personal opinion is that this is fallout from behavior seen on the Extreme Coupon show. All I’m trying to do is get lower prices so that our modest amount of money lasts a bit longer.
I agree, some cashiers don’t care and just scan the coupons and if it beeps, the just deduct the amount. No questions asked. While other cashiers, will literally have you look through your bag(s) and have them show them the product and then they check the printer receipt to make sure the item doesn’t come out to be free after coupon. If it does, the manage is called over and ….Well, we all know what happens after that.
I always have issues with coupons beeping at target–even store coupons beep sometimes! It really drives me crazy when that happens but luckily, the cashiers at my target are really good about it–if it matches the description then they usually just push it through. If that ever changes though, I know I’ll b a lot more nervous about couponing there, which is a stinker Bc my walmart is so unfriendly with coupons. Id hate to lose the target too
I just got back from Target and they had a couple really cute “WOW” Target gift cards. One is a 52-piece, 3D doghouse puzzle and the other is a “Hexapillar” (a Hexbug caterpillar that also comes with Target wings to make it a butterfly).
THANK YOU for all of your helpful info! I’m a teacher trying to stretch my savings to make it through the summer, and this really helps! Much appreciation to you!
According to my cashier the other day, coupons beep when they are close to their expiration date. I used a ton of coupons that expired on 6/16 last week, and there were a lot of beeps, so that seemed to make sense to me.
@Lisa: wow, I never knew that! I used 2 of the $2/2 Kotex balance coupon and it was about 2-3 days before the coupon expired and they kept beeping, which I thought was strange because I had just used 2 of the same coupons a week before and they went through just fine, zero beeps. I’ll have to just try and shop earlier before my coupons expire at Target then. Thanks for the heads up, Lisa!
Does anyone know if there’s a limit to the number of $5 gift cards you can use per transaction? I got one for getting the trash bags last week & forgot to read the fine print before I used it. I’m thinking about saving future ones for a mini shopping spree as a reward for sticking to my budget.
There is not a limit. I had saved up over $300 last year, and right before Christmas I bought a canon rebel eos 3 camera with the extra lens when they had the save $100 on the lens wyb the camera deal. After the camera, lens, bag, and sd card it was $700 and I think we paid $366 out of pocket. Most of my gc’s were $5 gcs. I laid them out in rows on the counter as the casier scanned them, and once we got to the end, i’d start over laying them out and him scanning. He was impressed at the amount of gcs I had. I do believe there is a limit online though, to only 4.
