The holiday clearance is now starting to move behind us but there’s lots of other discounts going on at Target. Here’s a rundown of what I, Kelley & others have seen clearanced. Remember- clearance can vary greatly from store to store- there is no guarantee you will find the same or for the same discount. But I try & list specific varieties, prices & other details when I can, since not everything gets stickered and sometimes it’s worth a quick scan to check.

Well today seems to be a much better day for me. The blog seems to be back on track and loading fine now, and this morning I got visual confirmation of 90% Off Christmas at my store. I hope lots more of you found your stores at 90% Off today too. I headed out after a few morning posts and got there at around 10am to find 3 aisles of stuff to go through. I know many of you aren’t as lucky to have this much left- and I was very surprised to see so much left at my store.
They had done a thorough job of moving everything to the clearance aisles, so there was not much in the way of hidden finds for me. Although I did find a nice Happy New Year shirt for .80 cents and 2 other sleep shirts with Mickey & Minnie & Hello Kitty for .99 cents. Even though there was not much to be had in other parts of the store, I had lots of great Christmas stuff to choose from- all at 90% Off.
I got lots of wrapping paper, tissue, gift bags, bows, ribbon, stockings, a decorative wreath, some craft kits, Cars 2 Pez Dispensers for 29 cents, Tissue paper decorations, and more. I even found a stray Scotch Pop Up Tape Dispenser that scanned at .20 cents. I also got some great colorful garland that to me looked nothing like Christmas & I thought they would make great party decorations. At .60 cents each I could not leave them there.
All together I spent $31.21 and my savings was $263.25. Even though I was very happy with my haul, I was very tempted to pop into another Target, but I resisted the urge. I have had my fun, I’m well-stocked for the next season and was thrilled that my store did in fact see 90% Off- even though I was told it wouldn’t. I hope lots more of you out there found 90% Off today too and had some luck!
While I am glad to hear reports of 90% Off Christmas Clearance in cities in Connecticut, California, Maryland, Washington State, Texas, New Jersey and more, there are lots still stuck at 70% Off. After calling my store this morning and being told we were at 90% Off, I raced out of the house with a wet head in the cold, drove all the way to my store, just to see signs for 70% Off! I thought okay- there is still a chance – I’ll scan. But nope still at 70% Off.
As I got madder and madder at the person on the phone who told me it was 90% Off, I started second guessing myself- did they say definitely? I was so excited to just get there, that my rule of usually asking to be transferred to someone who could verify went out the window. So I wandered around Target a bit, defeated and depressed. I roamed into the Scissor aisle- trying to cheer myself up by buying a pair of Scotch precision Scissors- which were finally back in stock, and still ringing up at $1.50. It helped a little but not much.
I then decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and hopped on the phone with Kelley who was at her Target and in such a good mood from finding stuff at 90% Off. So instead of moping, I’m going to try and stay positive. I am happy for Kelley and those of you who did find 90% Off today even though many of you were told you would not. And hopefully, I still have a chance that my store and other Targets will go 90% Off tomorrow. All states/stores may not- but for now I am still hopeful.
I hope that those of you who saw the drop had some luck. Kelley did- and here’s what she found….
I found some great finds at 90 percent off! Turns out that sometimes you can find stuff on the shelves that has just been returned and lucky for me, I found most of them at 90% off! One of my biggest finds today included A Christmas Story Collector’s Series Pint Glass 4-Pack, regularly $19.99 marked down to $1.99! Another big find was the Philips Blue Rope Lighting 9ft, regularly $11.99 marked down to $1.19. I also found Vanity Fair Holiday Insulated Cups 10 pack, for 29 cents; an inital D Holiday Stocking, regularly $13 marked down to $1.30; lots of ribbon and bows, all between .30 and .40 cents; and Gel Clings for .20 cents each.
I found some really cute Holiday Pet Pajamas for my dog, Cappy, only 79 cents! Doesn’t she look cute? I also found holiday greeting cards, ornaments, beaded garland, jingle bells, candy canes & even Pepperidge Farm Cookies all marked down 90% off. I found the Pepperidge Farm Holiday Cookie Bites in the holiday section but the Ginger Family Cookie Collection was in the regular grocery section on an end cap with other Pepperidge Farm Cookies. There was no indication that they were on clearance – no stickers, signs or anything. Here’s where you have to hunt and scan!!! My total bill was only – drum roll please! – $16.07! My total savings $137.97!!
It was weird though that there was no wrapping paper at my store. I went to another Target yesterday and they had a whole aisle full. I may have to zip over there next to see if they are at 90% off. I also didn’t see any gift bags or tags and as far as stocking stuffers go, only a few boxes of Wonka Storybooks were left. Bagged Candy still sits at 50% off and some holiday candy is still sitting at 70% off. You’ll have to scan everything to see what’s what. The mini candy canes I got were 90% off. I hope some of you have as much fun and luck as I did!
Well, it seems the much anticipated and hoped-for 90% off holiday clearance has arrived at some stores! While there is no guarantee it is at all stores, Kelley found Christmas marked down 90% at hers this morning and a quick call to my store reports the same. I know some of you have stores that are already bare, and those with items still left is mostly wrapping paper and ribbons and bags & tags- but be sure to look around everywhere for those hidden finds!
So, probably needles to say- I will be MIA for just a bit! Can you guess where I am going? I am chomping at the bit to see what I can find. But I will be back after the hunt and I sure hope I & others have a little luck and get to report finding some treasures! Good luck everyone!
Alana commented about a nice find on the Lenticular Puzzles found in the toy department on the regular shelves. Kelley checked it out for me this evening and she found them- so I hope more of you out there can too. It seems that several (but definitely not all) of the Lenticular puzzles for $4.04 are not stickered or tagged as clearance but ringing up at $1.19. Kelley found a certain Star Wars, The Grinch & Barbie all scanning at $1.19.
Alana found others too- Disney Mickey’s Club House, The Cat in The Hat, and Cars 2. It’s a little tricky, because some of the puzzles are identical but have different bar codes – so you will have to check at the scanner to see if you can find any hidden goodies, especially since they are not stickered and aside from the Grinch, their are no obvious signs of them being a holiday item. Clearance can definitely vary by store but I hope you find them too if you have interest!
And if by chance we get our Christmas miracle tomorrow and clearance goes 90% Off - you may even find them cheaper! My fingers are crossed so tight they hurt!
-Thanks for the heads up Alana!
Some of the Glade, Palmolive & Renuzit Holiday products that have been slow to drop seem to have finally moved down for some to 50% Off. Clearance can vary greatly from store to store- but if you have some left at your stores you may want to check in on them.
The Holiday Palmolive Bottles have now been found 50% Off the original price down to $1.48. Some of you may have the $1/1 Palmolive coupons that are being found in specially marked packages of Colgate toothpaste to use for an even better deal. There is also a .50/1 or a $1/2 Palmolive 25 Oz. +, in the new 01-01-12 SS.
Renuzit Holiday Apple & Cinnamon Pearl Scents were also 50% Off down to $1.48 and there is a $1/2 Renizit Pearl Scents you can use HERE to get them for .99 cents if you find the same.
The rest of the Glade Holiday items that were sitting at 15-30% Off have also dropped to 50% Off for some. I think most of us were able to grab better deals in December- but if you are still on the hunt for some- there are several Glade coupons in the 12-4-11 SS that are valid thru 1/14/12.
Christmas Clearance is still in abundance at some stores and still sitting at 70% Off for all of you as far as I know. Clearance can vary greatly from store to store- but there are a few other things that I heard from some of you that you may want to check for.
For starters- Thalia found Burt’s Bees Lip Balm in the regular Burts Bees aisle in this special die-cut package unmarked, but ringing up 70% Off down to .89 cents. -Thanks Thalia!
I found The Ritz Fudge Covered Limited Edition crackers at my store last night – unmarked, unstickered for 70% Off down to .83 cents. For me they were found at the front of the store in the small sale area and they were in abundance – sitting next to the snowflake Triscuits and Wheat Thins that by the way haven’t budged from full price.
Vanessa found Jennifer Lopez Love and Glamour Gift Sets for 50% Off down to $14.98. They were stickered at 30% Off, yet scanned at 50% Off. All others were only at 30% for her. -Thanks V!
Callie, Lisa & Kelley all found the Axe Gift Sets on clearance. For Kelley they were only stickered 15% Off but scanned at 30% Off down to $6.98. You can take your chances and see if they go to 50%, but we do have the $3/1 Axe Holiday Pack 12-11-11 RP that is valid thru 1/7 to make them $3.98 now if you find the same. That’s not a bad deal at all if you ask me- since there are 3 full size products and 2 trial sizes in each package. -Thanks Ladies!
WILL WE SEE 90% OFF CHRISTMAS CLEARANCE?
There has been much speculation about whether or not Target has done away with 90% Off and if 70% will be the best we get this year. And I don’t know the answer for sure. I know for many of you the pickings are slim- but at my store we still have 2 aisles of wrapping paper and Christmas items spread throughout the store, so I am really hoping it goes.
I was told that Halloween would never see 90%, but it did in fact go 90% Off, so my gut tells me Christmas will too, but I don’t know if that is just wishful thinking. I must not be 100% convinced though- since I bought 4 rolls of wrapping paper at 70% Off last night just in case.
If it is going to happen we may see a drop at some stores as early as tomorrow. For me, I am betting if it is going to happen, it will be Thursday the 5th. Here’s to crossing my fingers super-tight for the thrill of 90% Off and let me know if any of you find the bigger discount tomorrow.
Every year after Christmas Target has major toy clearance and eventually a BIG portion of it all moves to 70% Off all at once if it survives. I think 75% Off is now an extinct number for everyone and 70% is what we will all see. I don’t know about you folks but I feel like the entire toy section is on clearance these days.
Down every row there seems to be tons of toys on clearance- everything from dolls, to games, to Lego sets. The endcaps are full of clearance, and there are a couple of rows at my store designated only for clearance. I feel like the clearance range is all over the place this year- with items ranging anywhere from 30 – 70% Off at my store.
Most of the brand-name, popular toys like Lego are sitting at 30% Off, but there is quite a bit at 50% Off and a few items at 70% Off. Most of the toys at 70% Off for me were the Time 4 Toyz items. But I did see some others at 70% Off like the My Little Pony Canterlot Play tent down to $7.78 and the Star Wars Mighty Beanz down to $5.98.
The above Hot Wheels set was 50% Off down to $39.98 and had a $5 Off peelie coupon on it too. I feel like clearance is starting early this year but I think I say that every year and usually the majority seems to hold out until mid January for the big drop to 70% Off.
But there is no guarantee, and if it does happen mid-January again, some of the more popular toys like LEGO may not make it that long. Usually most disappear at 50% Off. But each store is different as to what is available and what will be left when the majority makes the big drop.
At my store last year, it was January 13th on a Friday. But stores can vary. One thing you can do to be more prepared is to find out your stores markdown schedule. While many stores do markdowns on Wednesdays in Toys, not all stores do. For example my store typically does toy markdowns on Thursdays AND sometimes Fridays. So I knew when it didn’t hit Thursday last year- that I needed to be there bright & early on Friday and I ended up with some wonderful finds.
This year- I am betting on the 11th, 12th or 13th of January- but it could be the following week OR I could be way off and maybe it will be this week but I don’t think it will. It’s something to carefully watch, and worth a good long look in the toy aisles now to see if anything interests you- since there is no way of knowing if what’s there now will survive a bigger discount.
Clearance can vary from store to store- but here’s another surprise you may find at the scanner. Valerie found Betty Crocker Snickerdoodle cookie mix on sale for .51 cents at her store. It was not marked but a quick check at the scaner- yielded a nice markdown at .51 cents.
I believe we have lost our printables but there is a $1/2 or .40/1 Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes 17.5 oz+ in the 12-11-11 SS x2/4/12 or the 11-13-11 SS x1/7/12 you can use to get them for as low as a penny after coupon wyb 2 if you find the same. Remember to check the regular aisle and scan even if they aren’t marked clearance. You never know unless you try!
-Thanks so much to Valerie for the heads up!
Holiday clearance should now be at 70% for most of you if your store has anything left. What can be found will vary from store to store, but definitely worth taking a good look around for anything you might want to go ahead and stock up on for next year. I was unable to get to the store today, so Kelley volunteered to go check out her Target and give me a report. She found a variety of things at her store marked down 70%, including greeting cards, scotch tape, ribbons & bows, gift bags, Disney stockings, Carter’s holiday themed sleepers and more. She reported seeing a whole endcap of Pepperidge Farm Cookies and Goldfish Crackers Holiday Shapes also marked down 70%.
There were plenty of boxes of light clips for hanging lights and she did report seeing some ornaments, stocking hangers and a few tree toppers. The stocking stuffers were a little scarce but she did find a couple Nerds & Starburst storybooks, Candy Canes, M&M minis, Disney Princess Ornaments, Transformers Mini Vehicles and more. Although the specialty holiday candy was at 70%, I was really surprised when she told me that her bagged candy was still stuck at 30%. Hopefully that wasn’t the case for most of you out there.
Keep in mind that some items will actually get clearanced in the regular aisles too, so take a good look around in each area. Kelley found holiday themed Colgate Toothpaste clearanced in the health & beauty section for .89 cents. . She also checked out the baby section for holiday clothing and found a few good deals there marked down to 70%.
Just keep in mind some items do not get stickered or signed, so be sure to scan, scan, scan. Also please feel free to comment on this post and tell us what you have been finding so we know what other hidden goodies we should be looking for! I still have the Christmas Clearance prep list available to reference, but keep in mind many of the items listed will probably already be gone.
