Wow- don’t know where to start- lots of EVERYTHING is being reported, and shoes seems to be the new hot clearance find with many people reporting 75% off. Don’t give up if you see signs for 50% either folks- remember to scan, scan, scan! You just never know until you give it a good price check. Lots of Toy clearance reported too. I am curious to see if the Venus Bikini Kits have dropped further yet, as they are included in the Back to School Rebate, so keep that in mind if you have interest. Look far and wide around your Target as clearance seems to be everywhere these days!

Welcome to the Knorr report- my notes and musings on the sale each week. For those of you who have just tuned in recently, you may wonder why I call it the Knorr Report, and this week’s musing touches on the answer. The name evolved through some wacky pricing behavior I reported on the Knorr Alfredo Pasta side, which at one point hit as high as $2.79 at my store. Hence, “The Knorr Repot” was born. BTW- the Alfredo seems to have since been discontinued or is no longer carried at either of my locations.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out how different pricing can be at stores that are even in very close proximity to one another. My two local stores are about 13 miles apart from one another. At one, the Knorr Pasta sides sit steady at $1.02, at the other, they are currently $1.74!  But my point is, is that if you have more than one store you frequent, sometimes it is best to hold off until you check both when buying something, especially something you plan to stock up on.

Of course with many things, area will determine price and likely you have figured out by now, when I report something, typically how much higher or lower you yourself will find it for, and have adjusted to expecting that. I also try and make you aware that Price Cuts, Sales, Prices, Coupon Usage, etc can vary by area and store. I am not one to spout permanent sunshine, when in fact there may be rain, and try and note reminders of possible discrepancies often on my posts. I can only do my best to report what I or others find as accurately as possible, post my little reminders everywhere, and hope that you find the same or close to it. Sometimes you will, sometimes you won’t, but hopefully you score more hits than misses and the blog helps you in some way to get a better deal at Target.

C9 & MERONA COUPONS
Lots of you report great success in finding clearanced and lower-priced c9 and Merona clothing and purses. I think that’s awesome! I perused the c9 clearance area (they keep most of the clearanced c9 stuff in a rack in the same area as the rest of the fitness apparel), only to find that I would have needed to be about a size 2 to fit into anything. BUT, that coupon is good until 9/11 so I will be biding my time waiting for something great to come along. ;) If you haven’t heard about these coupons yet, I believe they are still available except the $2/1 Merona Women’s top). CLEARANCE IN BABY DEPARTMENT
Marybeth in Blaine, MN e-mailed me with this picture of some awesome Baby clearance finds. (I left the picture full size, so you can click on it if you want to get a better view). MORE COUPON ISSUES AT THE REGISTER
Many of you reported disaster at the registers yesterday with the unadvertised Schick Disposable Deal I posted about yesterday HERE. While one may expect that it is a coupon/Gift Card Deal issue, I am not convinced yet and think it is more likely a coupon specific problem. I heard from Mitchell yesterday, whose coupons actually made the register crash at his Target store yesterday, and more than once. Others report the coupon taking off wacky amounts. But just a heads up that this deal may cause problems- and possibly due to the printable coupon. I would be unterested to hear if anyone using the insert coupons on this deal had the same troubles and it would definitely give a clue to wether or not the issue is related to the printable coupons.

One other thing to note is an e-mail I got from Andrea who did the Prilosec Gift Card Deal on Sunday and had something very strange happen. She  did the deal fine, and her receipt total came out as expected, but upon closer examination, she noticed a coupon missing. But upon checking the total, it was correct. So a coupon was minused off her total, that just never showed up as being deducted on the receipt. Just one more reason to try and keep your transactions small when doing the more complicated deal scenarios with coupons and it makes me sad that Target is having so many issues with the register lately.

All right…. who did it? ‘Fess up! LOL This is what the Red Baron shelves looked like in my freezer case at Target on Sunday. I managed to get myself 2 more $2/1 Red Baron coupons (no longer available) from a friend and not a Pizza by the Slice box in sight! Ah well- at least the Price Cut is good until 7/24 so they have plenty of time to re-stock. And I must say that my Target does a very nice job of keeping their freezers clean!

So what’s going on this week? Well, much to my husband’s chagrin, I went shopping on Sunday, and much to my disappointment it was pouring rain- so no scouring the carts in the parking lot for abandoned catalinas! But I was very happy to see that the Pepperidge Farm sale on Deli Flats was extended- but the shelves were sparse.  I plan on goiing back in tomorrow or Thursday to see if I can pick up a couple more and hopefully find the Red Baron re-stocked.

I was hoping to see the Olay Total Effects marked down lower than the $4.79, but although the shelves were restocked- proud signs stating “even lower” sat over the regular shelf price of $4.79. This drives me crazy- I mean I know they mean even lower than the advertised price, but I always am tempted to go get a Team Leader and say- “Okay, so let me get this straight- your shelf price is $4.79, so you advertised it at $5.49, so you could get a sale sign that says “even lower” for $4.79 to cover up the $4.79 price????” I don’t know- just kinda silly imo.

But regardless- I am fairly certain that the $3.54 price is now non-existant anywhere, but even if your store has them for $4.79 it can be a nice deal combined with an Ivory Product if your store does not have B1G1 Issues.

So all that Pet clearance was so they could rearrange the Pet Department. While it does look nice and neat- it’s like I’ve said before – ants in an anthill always busy moving stuff around. But another motive seems to be to have Boots & Barkley ( a Target Private Label) to be one of the most prominent brands in the Pet Section. I saw more more B&B products in the pet aisles than ever before- but I am sure we were all happy to pick up the cheap Pet food, supplies, toys and treats that resulted from the rearrangement and replacement of brands.

I also saw the beginnings of the Back to School area being set up. Here comes the back packs, lunch bags and school supplies that will all contribute to taking over the back corner of the store for the season. I too will be joining the masses in shopping for school supplies this year, as Austin is starting Kindergarten! Hard to believe… but true.

*Clearance varies from store to store- there are no guarantees you will find the same. I had wanted to get a clearance round-up in, but time is getting away from me today- due to holiday plans. But the latest finds showing up in my inbox are the Venus Bikini Kits.
