Select Fitness DVDs are in the ad this week at Target for $12 and there are other titles available for as low as $10. The ad also states a FREE 1 yr subscription to Fitness Magazine when you buy a select DVD.  This is actually an in-package offer, and DVDs will have a sticker alerting you to the offer inside.

Alyssa got a nice surprise when she purchased her Cardio Ballroom w/Julianne Hough workout DVD on sale for $11. Enclosed was a postcard for the FREE subscription offer, but it had the following statement in the fine print ” if you do not wish to receive a one-year subscription to Fitness (valued at $7.13) as part of your qualifying purchase, please fill out this card, write “refund” and mail to…”  etc. So, after sending in the refusal for the subscription, along with her receipt (which is required) she will have paid $3.87 for her DVD.

-Thanks so much Alyssa!

Melissa let me know that ther are several other Annie’s products included in the sale this week. She found Annie’s Macaroni & CHeese, Shells and Cheese and other varieties on sale for $1 each. She also found 15 oz cans of the Annie’s Cheesy Ravioli for $1.29.

Also, there is a current rebate to get a FREE Annie’s Lunchsack wyb 2 Annie’s Homegrown Products HERE.

-Thanks Melissa!

Welcome to the Knorr Report- my little weekly report of my adventures at Target. I realize that some stores are slower than others to clearance, but when there is such an abundance of the same item being clearanced, why does it sit so long? I really expected to find a drop in the Dawn this weekend, and instead it just sits at 15% off, and the above pic is just one shelf, on one endcap, and just a fraction of all the tons of Dawn that is carrying a clearance sticker. It is still in the aisles too because they have no room for it!

THE SCOTCH TAPE COUPON
It is awful to hear of all the problems people are having with coupons for multiples like the $1/3 Scotch Tape Coupon being automatically adjusted down to the price of 1 item and scanning in at .50 cents. Prior to the Scotch Tape sale event, reports of the issues people are having with the registers incorrectly adjusting coupons down are pretty random, since everybody is typically buying different things.

But this week, when the masses are purchasing something that is hot and tons of people are experiencing this register glitch, now is the perfect time to call or write corporate to let them know what is happening. This same glitch happened to me, and while I had no issues with my cashier knowing it was a register issue and fixed it, I called corporate first thing Monday. While I longed to hear them tell me they knew about the issue and were fixing it, that is not what happened.

While I had a very understanding and patient rep who assured me that the store should fix it if it was not scanning right, and to just call them at corporate if my store refused to do it, I felt he wasn’t really trying to absorb the impact of what I was trying to tell him. While I know it takes time away from your life to call or e-mail corporate and report these issues, if enough of us call, they will realize it is not a store-specific problem, it is not something we as couponers are doing wrong, and it is not going to go away by itself. Those of you who can recall specific instances in addition to the Scotch Tape issue I believe will have even more of an impact, since that nullifies it being chalked up to a problem with one specific coupon.

In the meantime, for those of you buying the Scotch Tape, you may want to put your 3 tapes up on the belt with the coupon and watch the coupon as it scans. If it scans at .50 cents, point out that you did indeed buy 3 and they need to fix it. If a cashier refuses and tells you it’s because it’s on sale, or because you can’t get something free, or that the store will only give you what it scans at, or any other multitude of responses a cashier who is not familiar with coupons may offer you, resist the urge to snap back, and calmly ask for a manager.

If a manager refuses and you have time to deal with it, calmly asked to be moved over to the GS desk so that you can call corporate and get the issue ironed out. Arguments, heated conversation, and anger usually get you nowhere, and it is usually best to be as calm and rational as possible. Should you have to deal with all of this? No. But if you love Target and want to stick it out while they get the bumps ironed out of their new system of adjusting coupons down to avoid overage, then you’ll stick it out and if you have the time, maybe even try and help them resolve the issues by reporting it.

B2G1: FREE BREAD wyb SELECT CHEESE OR LUNCHMEAT
Carrie from Idaho Falls, ID asked customer service at her Target if they would substitute Archer Farms bread since they don’t carry the Oroweat Dutch Country Bread that is part of the special deal at Target this week.  They agreed but did charge a penny for the bread. ALthough the signs say quantities limited and no rain checks, if your store has an abundance of meat and cheese and no bread, it can’t hurt to point that out and ask for a substitution. The worst they can say is no. If you are unfamiliar with this Special Offer valid thru 8/14, see my post HERE.

QUAKER CHEWY GRANOLA BARS
A couple of you report finding The Quaker Chewy Granola Bars on price cut until 9/11 for $1.82. Let me know if many of you find the same. Sometimes Price Cut signs get swallowed up by sale signs, so I am curious if my store just didn’t have the signs up yet. You can also scan to double check. If you find this price cut, it will bring them down to as low as .32 cents each with a stack.  See my post HERE

Well it was a very short and sweet matchup with the new Target Coupons, since the majority of them are for store brand items, but I found what I could. Here’s a few things I found in the ad with new matchups, and that new Produce coupon is wonderful and has no specs on it, no brand, no specific amount needed to purchase to use it, so it is absolutely wonderful imo. 😉

And I can’t wait to go clearance hunting with the new apparel coupons. You can bet they won’t last long up on the site, so be sure to print soon. Also- one of the Gift Card Deals this week is for Levi Strauss Boys Jeans, so you could get $7 Off when you buy 2 pairs between the Gift Card and new coupon. SOme stores may allow you to use two TQs in the transaction, but will be a ymmv.

And last of all, there is a current Gift Card Insert coupon for Pledge products that the new Target Pledge coupon can possibly be used for. This is definitely a ymmv as some stores view this as using 2 TQ’s on the same item and some do not. It will be up to your store whether they choose to take it or not. See the Special Deals Page for scenarios with the Target Pledge Gift Card coupon.

So I am working on the matchups for the new Target coupons, but I keep pausing to check and see if anything interesting matches up. 😉 And now I am distracted by the Quaker sale.

The Quaker Target coupon, when printed, has a picture of pretty much everything on it, including Chewy Granola Bars, so since Target is very fond of pointing out that a coupon should be used on the item pictured, Chewy Granola Bars are In! 🙂 (Sale prices are valid thru 8/14)

So I found today that the Special Purchase deal that gets you a free loaf of Oroweat Bread wyb 2 Select Deli Fresh Lunch Meat or Kraft Cheese, includes the Kraft Deli Fresh Cheese. It was on sale for $2.25 at my store and there is a printable coupon available. (The Bread will be Arnold instead of Oroweat in some regions) Deal is valid thru 8/14.

Don’t be confused by the signs that may call it Deli Deluxe Cheese and even get the ounce size wrong, it is included, and I checked at the scanner as well as asked an employee to scan it with a PDA. Everytime the Deli Fresh Cheese goes on sale, Target’s signs call it Deli Deluxe, and I am not quite sure why. 🙄 BTW – the Deli Deluxe is NOT included.  But this will get you a pretty nice deal after Qs:

DEAL IDEA: Buy 2 Kraft Deli Fresh Cheese ($2.25) & Loaf of Oroweat/Arnold Bread ($1.89) = $6.39
-$1.89 (Free Loaf of Bread with Target Deal
-$2.00 (use two $1/1 Kraft Deli Deluxe or Deli Fresh Cheese HERE

Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure Nintendo DS Deal

Weekly Ad Comments Off on Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure Nintendo DS Deal

So this was in the ad, but I wanted to double check and see if there were any other inclusions you could purchase in order to get the 50% off Game and as far as I could tell there were not. But for this week only, thru 8/14 there is a Special Offer of 50% Off a DS Game wyb a Select DS Game. One of the games that will be half off is Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure. Due to the Target coupon that’s out right now, this may not be such a bad deal for those who want and are willing to pay for the game you need to purchase.

So sometimes I have a hard time believing a coupon unless I see it. But I was happy when I opened my Smart Source Insert this morning that the $1/3 Scotch Magic Tape, was in fact off individual rolls, and not the boxed 3-pack tape it usually is. There was also not one, but two $1/3 coupons, which will let you pick up Scotch Magic tape for .17 cents a roll after coupon thru 8/14.

Scotch Magic Tape .50 (Sale thru 8/14)
-$1/3 Any Rolls of Scotch Magic Tape 8-8-10 SS x11/19
= .50 cents for 3 after coupon or .17 cents each wyb 3

UPDATE: Watch how your coupon scans for these. I just heard from Leanne, whose coupon scanned at .50 cents when she bought 3. This seems to be a recurrent problem that happens at many stores, and not just on this coupon. At times, the register CANNOT seem to differentiate between a coupon that is off multiples anda coupon that is off 1 item. If the items you are buying are individually less than the total coupon amount, it will only take the price for 1 item off and you will need for them to manually correct it. 🙁
