I agree completely! I avoid Walmart purely on principle because of the way they treat their employees. I love to save money, but there are numerous other stores that would love (and receive!) my business because of their practices. I was shopping with my Dad the other day and he made a comment that not only the prices, but the LOOKS and QUALITY of Target felt much better than they do at Walmart. As a psychology major, I have always found it interesting that the aesthetic quality of a store effects how people shop – but it does! Studies show that people are 87% more likely to return to a store that is well organized and run efficiently even if the prices ARE higher. Besides, being able to stack coupons especially including the new Target cartwheel – which if you haven’t checked out I HIGHLY recommend – as well as the numerous gift card offers that Target provides often lead to lower prices than you would find at other stores anyway. Having someone like Kerry to make it easier for me to shop as a full time student = priceless!
