Price Cuts can vary by region, but I found all 8-packs (160 oz) of Powerade on Price Cut at mine. Usually we have a price cut and no coupon, or the coupon and no price cut, but now we have both. So after Price Cut and coupon you will be paying around .37 cents per bottle, so not too shabby in my book.
Powerade 8 Packs $3.99 (PC thru 3/19)
-$1/1 Powerade 8 pk 20 oz Bottles Target Web Coupon x3/26
= $2.99 after Target coupon
Oh was yesterday a rotten day for me. For about 4 hours my five-year old sent me on an emotional roller coaster that left me completely exhausted. First let me say that basically instead of opening my front door and finding yourself in my house, you find yourself on my patio. We have a double front door with a huge arched plate glass window high above it- it’s around 6 feet wide and way up high, probably 10-12 feet off the ground.
Now when Austin comes home from school, he has half hour of TV time with a snack before he is supposed to do homework. I left him sitting quietly watching Scooby Doo and eating his snack and went off to do a little laundry. I guess he grew tired of Scooby Doo, since about 10 minutes later, I hear a huge crash and my heart just fell to the floor. I scrambled outside to the patio to find Austin fine but with a shocked look on his face and he promptly announced “someone broke the window”.
Now knowing that “someone” was the 5-year old in front of me with the tell-tale baseball glove on his hand, that mystery was solved. But as I looked up, and saw that window I had to walk away and I just started sobbing. It was not because of the window, but rather the huge shards of glass that I saw laying on the ground and all I could think of was “what if he had been standing underneath it as they fell!”
When I gathered my wits about me and walked back out to the patio, Austin is still standing there. And he says “Mom I am sorry I did it, I broke the window”. So I am thankful at least that he is not going to try and blame it on some random invisible person, but I am still shaky from my falling-glass vision and I still don’t say anything. I walked outside and found the culprit, which was a hardball. We have a rule- NO HARDBALLS on the patio. So now I am upset that he’s broken a rule.
I hold it up for him to see and he looks guilty. Knows immediately that he’s busted for breaking a rule. On top of all that now it finally hits me in the gut that it is a good thing I saved around $200 on groceries last week since now I am going to need it to put toward a window! I say to him, Austin, you broke a rule, and although I am sure this was an accident, you still broke a rule and I want you to go to your room.
I get on the phone with my husband, very upset now and start talking about how much it is going to be to replace it. As I pass by Austin’s room I see him counting his money. He probably has around $20 or $30 by now and he walks to doorway and says Mom- I want to pay for the window but I don’t have enough money. I start feeling a little relief that he is showing some remorse and the monetary gesture until he hands me $3 and tells me he needs the rest since he is saving up to buy something at Target!
Oh boy, anyway, we had a long talk and I said I would take half his money to help pay, and told him he can work off the rest and plan on having hm do some simple chores to help earn the money to pay for the window. Obviously I am not going to give him 20 hours of hard labor, but you know what I mean, I really want him to learn that he has to accept responsibility. I am not telling him, but plan on returning his money when he completes the chores I will assign him. He looked very brave, agreed to the terms, handed me half his money, and 2 minutes later I hear him sobbing in his room that he lost his money.
He got over it eventually, said he understood why I was so scared & upset, and that he was sorry for breaking a rule and sorry for breaking the window. So now I sit and lay in wait for the glass man to arrive and give me an estimate. I am fearful it will be around $300, but crossing my fingers for less. Please cross your fingers for me too!
So one of the many new coupons on coupons .com is a $2/1 Halo SleepSack Target Store Coupon x3/31. For the last few weeks I have been seeing clearance on Pink & Blue Halo SleepSacks. FIrst 25% Off, then 50% off down to $9.98. They have also migrated from the regular aisles to clearance endcaps for me. But you may want to keep an eye out at your store, and you can always scan to check the sticker price in case it is lower than marked.
I believe they have a new one out now with sleeves which is likely the reason for the clearance, but I thought the ones without sleeves were great. I had a couple of these when Austin was a baby. It’s a great way to keep them warm without worrying about blankets. I used to put him in a warm long-sleeve onsie and a SleepSack and he would be warm and comfortable all night without me worrying. They would make a nice shower gift too.
