So when I was MIA this morning, I bet most of you knew where I was at! Yep, my Target went 90% off today just as I thought. Although this is the second year in a row that I have not been able to get a running start. My son’s ride to school fell through this morning, so I did not even make it there until 9:30. BUT c’est la vie, the kiss and “I Love You” I got from him this morning, was worth missing a few finds. And I still did very well in my opinion. Here’s what I got. I feel like I really lucked out on the Pillow & The Mike Huckabee book. And I have enough wrapping paper & other stuff for next year. I thought the little Lego police boats were a nice find too. My litle guy will enjoy making a little army of 4 police boats, and I will tuck one away for his stocking next year. It was a nice trip- wish I would have found bows, but still happy. Hope those of you who went 90% off today had some luck- and if you’re not there today- I should think it will go tomorrow!

So there’s been reports from some of you that clearance hit 90% at some stores today. It wasn’t for me, but not shocked about that and I am expecting it to go tomorrow. There was quite  abit of stuff when I popped in last night, so I am holidng out hope for a few good deals. If your store is at 90% Off today- what did you all find? I also spotted a ton of Black & Decker Cordless Drills 50% off marked down to $17.48.  I was tempted too, as I have a Ryobi that the rechargeable battery is kaput on. I haven’t a clue on how much a replacement battery would be for it, but it it’s more than what a new drill would cost me I may just keep an eye on these.

TOY CLEARANCE
Keep us posted on what you are finding out there. For me  I am anxiously awaiting toy clearance when the next big markdowns will hit at my store. Right now we are 30-50% off and I am REALLY HOPING some will drop to 75% off this week for me. Last year it happened on the 7th for me, but last year the 7th was a Thursday (the day my store usually does Toy Markdowns). But you just never know- it may be a whole other week. it’s a waiting game for sure, and it’s a painful wait isn’t it? Let me know what it’s like at your stores and when any of you start seeing 75% off!

So since my store is usually bringing up the rear when it comes to clearance, and we finally hit 75% off today- I am guessing that most of you are now 75% Off at your stores too. Mine just had soooo much stuff left, and I feel for you all whose Christmas leftovers were sparse. If you can check another store close by, it may just be worth the trip- stores can differ from one another greatly- even if they are in fairly close proximity.

Unfortunately, many of the coupons on the Christmas Clearance Prep list will expire today, but if there is anything to get added with this weekend’s inserts I will update as soon as I can. As far as dropping down to 90% now- it again will be different at each store. There is no one set date, and for example last year for me, I had to wait until the 5th for 90% Off. You can always call your store though before you head out if you have a long distance to travel.

I was happy to still see so much left, since the abundance of wrapping paper and gift bags and bows & other stuff affords me the time to wait for a 90% drop. but I did pick up a few goodies today.

And remember- not everything always gets moved to a clearance area. Many of the holiday wintery packaging on food and household items sometimes remains in the regular aisles. Here’s where the scanner becomes your best friend since much of it sometimes doesn’t even get marked down but will scan that way- so it’s worth a price check.

For example, certain varieties of the Pepperidge Farm Holiday cookies like the Almond Cookies and the Snowball Citrus are not marked at my store as clearance, but now ringing up .84 cents. A $1/1 makes them FREE! There’s no guarantees you will find the same- but you will never know unless you scan to check. Take a look at the Christmas Clearance Prep list which has a coupon matchup that I have tried to keep current to see what other “hidden” clearance goodies you may be able to find. Also please feel free to comment on this post and tell us what you have been finding so we know what other hidden goodies we should be looking for!

TOY CLEARANCE: The toys that have been sitting at 30% down each aisle, have all been migrated to their own aisle now at my store, and quite a few have now been bumped to 50%. Many of you should find the same, if you haven’t already, and if they haven’t been moved to a new home in a clearance aisle, scour the endcaps and each aisle for clearance. As far as a bigger drop goes- for everyone it is different, but keep a close eye- major clearance should happen in the first week of January and many toys should bump to 75% off for most of you by the 6th or 7th or even earlier.

So, while many of you have reported that your stores were mayhem and raked clean, this is what my store looked like at around 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday. (Actually I asked the crowds of people to move out of the way so I could take a picture for my blog). Nope! Just kidding- my store literally had just a very few people hunting through the clearance and there was a ton of stuff there when I left including a whole other aisle- one side of it being the back wall and a whole other gift wrap section. Now I don’t know what it looks like today… but I will still bide my time and wait for 75% Off.

Many of you have asked me when 75% Off will start, but there is no one answer. Typically it should start to happen at some stores within 4 days, but some will have a longer wait and things could be different this year too. Last year, some people reported their stores going 75% off on the 29th, several more on the 30th, but for me it didn’t happen until the 31st. So it’s a waiting game but it could happen as early as tomorrow for some of you. I would be extremely surprised if it happened for any of you today- but let me know if it did.

Here’s something you may want to keep an eye out for in case you find the clearance and are in need of a last minute gift. Christie found tons of Fragrance gift sets already clearanced at her store 30% off down to $20.98. There was a $5/1 Coty frangrances or gift set, regular retail $10 or more, in the All You, December 2010 Issue. Christie saw the Beyonce Heat & Halle Berry Fragrance Gift Sets both included in the clearance at her store which are both Coty Brands.

Inside specially marked boxes are $30 worth of Target coupons including a $5/1 Beyonce and a $5/1 Halle Berry 1 oz or larger Fragrance. The size included in the gift sets are 1 oz each, so they should stack just fine and make the Halle or Beyonce sets $10.98- or a savings of over 60%. The Target coupons inside are valid until 12/31/2011 & the All You coupon is valid until 3/31/11 so you can hold out for  a bigger drop too.

She also saw Liz Taylor White Diamonds included in the clearance & there were others too. There are no manufacturer’s coupons, but there are a few  Target coupons still available to print now on select Gift Sets including White Diamonds that are valid until 1/1.

Not all stores carry batteries in the Dollar Spot, but for those that do, you may have found that Rayovac has been replaced with Eveready. Now apparently it is a fact that Eveready is an Energizer brand, so you can use your $1/1 Energizer Brand batteries insert coupons to score free Eveready batteries. You can find these $1/1 Energizer coupons in the 10-3, 11-21, & 12-12 Smart Source Inserts and they do not beep. If you didn’t get these coupons, Virginia of MyCouponHunter has plenty in stock! Well I can tell you that the GE Reveal Catalina is still going strong! While there are no guarantees, I hope many of you have found the same to be happening at your store. You can use a $1.50/1 GE Light Bulb Reveal or CFL Target Store Q HERE and buy a 4-pack of light bulbs for around $2.50. So pay $1 out of pocket and get back a $2/1 GE Lightbulb manufacturer’s coupon catalina. It seems to be prompting for ANY light bulbs and it just keeps rolling. Use it to buy another and another will pop out and it keeps on going. If you have more than 1 target coupon you can stack too since the catalina is a manufacturer’s coupon!

And also Ali let me know that she also got a great catalina for a FREE Sierra Mist 2-liter- she is not even sure what prompted it- because it printed after her transaction, but that’s a sweet coupon! Clearance can vary greatly from store to store- there is no guarantee you will find the same.

So I don’t know if it was a fluke or not- but my store had an endcap just packed full of Solar Light Sets of 4 in Copper or Stainless Steel Finish for 50% off. I also found a few clearance items in the outdoor/camping aisle- including Coleman & Embark Camp Stoves marked 30% off.

ORAL B CROSS ACTION POWER TOOTHBRUSH
Here’s something to definitely keep an eye on- I saw a ton of Oral B Cross Action Power Toothbrush on clearance- marked down only 15% off at my store down to $4.24. But while it’s only 15% off there is a $3/1 Oral-B CrossAction PowerToothbrush in the 11-28-10 PG that would make it very cheap if you spot a further drop at your store.

LOTS OF CLEARANCE ON GUM
There was quite a bit of clearance in the gum section of the candy aisle. It was only on specific flavors-  but here’s what I found in case you don’t see stickers and want to check at the scanners just in case:

Rachel let me know in the comments that she found a 36 ct Bic Mark-It pens on clearance for 75% off down to $4.76. If any of you printed the $5/1 Bic Mark-It Pens coupon I posted yesterday (no longer available), or even if you didn’t be sure and take a good look around your store as that’s a pretty great deal with or without the coupon imo. -Thanks Rachel!

SMART ONES PEELIE ALERT
If you have exhausted your Smart Ones manufacturer prints for the $4/10 Weight Watchers Smart Ones Target Coupon HERE (you can see a full matchup on the Target Coupon Page), Lisa let me know she spotted a bunch of purple $3/10 manufacturer’s peelies on several of the Smart Ones entrees at her store.  -Thanks Lisa!

If you are a fan of Wonka- you way want to take a look at the Wonka Bars & Fruit Jellies. Almost all the Jellies and the Domed Dark Bars were on clearance at my store for 30% off- you may even find it lower.

There are coupons on coupons.com for Wonka Exceptionals, but it is not on any of the varieties I saw, but there is a manufacturer’s coupon still available on on the Target site if you have not printed it yet for $1/1 Wonka Exceptionals Chocolate Bar 3.5 oz Manuf Coupon on Target Site (prints with No Logo) HERE. I also had a printed coupon in my binder for $1/1 Fruit Jellies, which is no longer available- but take a look in case you printed it too and still have it. I picked up a couple for .38 cents each after coupon
