Scrubbing Bubbles Deal Just Got Better w/New Q!

Wow- the Scrubbing Bubbles Target Coupon deal just got even better! There is a new Q: (Note- the deals discussed in this post are Coupon-Required Gift Card Deals. They are not available in the store without the coupon.)

B1G1: Buy Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer Get a Refill FREE (up to 3.99) HERE

  1. Was the $5/1 coupon regional? I can’t seem to find it in my SS 🙁 I have the target Q but no MFQ…

  2. I would love to win the contest on Facebook! Was about to go buy these products an would love to do it cheaper/free 🙂 Thanks for your posts.

  3. You’re so welcome! Now, you don’t happen to have an extra set of coupons, do ya? LOL, I will miss this one as I did not grab extra papers yesterday, oops!

  4. I think this would work as well.

If you haven’t done any SC Johnson Rebates yet, could do this 3x on 3 separate receipts. Would end up with 3 sprayers and 6 refills with a $12.21 profit after all 3 rebates.

  5. I’m not finding the B1G1 refill coupon – can you double check if it is still there? I’m looking under the promotion tab; if I’m looking in the wrong place, could you please redirect me?

    TIA,
    Deanna

  6. I’m new to this couponing. I am curious, would it be considered double dipping if I use both $5 and B1G1 Qs? I thought both Qs are for the sprayer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Ananda

  7. Hi Ananda- each coupon must attach to an item. The B1G1 attaches to the free item (the refill), the $5/1 attaches to the sprayer. hth

  8. i just tried this one at my Target this morning

And they would NOT do it. I plan on trying again at my other Target later this week!

  9. Kerry- Their reason was i could not use 2 Manufacturer coupons for the same item. I tried to explain that the “Free refills” coupon was for the refills, Not The Sprayers. Then she tried telling me that it’s free with the starter kit and that i did not have the starter kit. Then i tried to explain to her that those WERE the starter kit, hence why these others were refills. Then she told me one of my coupons was a copy. i about it lost it at that point and said you know what nevermind. and i got 3 of the kits instead of 4 kits and 2 refills. (i was also using two of the target gift card coupons as well). i had 4 starter kit coupons, 2 free refill coupons, and 2 target gift card coupons. so i paid for my other three and left, put the other coups aside for use later this week. i knew i should have asked for a manager, but i was so furious from this cashier and her attitude i know i would have probably just been wasting my breath.

  10. DONT let them tell you the free refill coupon is not valid. The starter kit IS the power sprayer (sprayer on top and liquid at the bottom is what makes up the kit).

I got hassled big time at Target today for this deal. They kept saying that the free refil coupon was only for automatic cleaner KIT, blah, blah. I was in a rush, so paid full price for one refill (had two power sprays so needed a third scrubbing bubbles for the gift card) and left the other refill. After coming home and checking the SB website, it turns out it IS the right coupon. They had no reason to not accept it and hassle me so much!! I was SO furious. Husband was leaving so stopped at Target and said the customer service couldn’t figure it out. So finally the manager came and immediately took the refill off and also gave cash to get a second refill for free (which I had left behind).

Reading the other posts, it seems like these Target cashiers are really not familar with the deal at all or the products. Or they are just out to hassle all the deal seekers today. I bought GE bulbs also and they were not accept a coupon which clearly said ANY GE bulb. But I made them take that which is probably I had less energy to deal with the Scrubbing bubbles problem initially.

  11. oh gosh i had trouble at target today too…. the cashier told at me that i could not use the free refill coupon with the $5 coupons, because i am using 2 manuf. coupons for 1 item. i explained to him over and over, that the free refill coupon is attached to the refill and the $5 coupon off to the sprayer. he lost it.. he SCREAMED at me… then a manager came over and told him if the $5 coupon scanned it was okay.. of course it scanned and then he said… well i had to force the free refill thru tho…. which was so not true…

at the end he messed up my whole transaction anyways and i had it redone by the manager … it worked like a charm when she rang me up…

i also complained about the cashier… screaming and yelling at a customer should be a big NO GO!!

i wish i could print something out to show him, that i was right…

  12. Hey- for those of you having trouble- or those that think they may have trouble- the coupon prints with a picture of the power sprayer at the bottom- if you think that might help- leave the page intact and bring the whole thing to the store. I did also call SCJ- since it is kind of poor wording on the Q imo. I don’t know if they will change he wording or not- but felt I should express it to them, as the Power Sprayer to the best of my knowledge does not say kit anywhere on it- so I can see how it would be confusing to cashiers unfamiliar w/the product.

  13. Is this deal only regional. In my ad and also in store, the only Scrubbing Bubbles product that had a $5 GC was the Automatic Shower Cleaner Starter kit. Not the Power Sprayer. 🙁

  14. Hey Karline- the deals are coupon-required. There were 2 regional $5 Gift Card Coupons in this Sunday’s Inserts – 1 for Scrubbing Bubbles and 1 for Windex. hth

  15. Right. I have all the coupons needed. I just can’t seem to see where there is a $5 GC with this purchase. I’ve spotted one for the Automatic Shower Cleaner Starter Kit, just not the other items in this deal. Bottom left of page 22 in the ad is what I am looking at. Thanks in advance.

  16. Hey Karline- this is a coupon required gift card deal- there was an actual coupon for $5 Gift Card wyb 3 scrubbing bubbles in some inserts this past weekend. You will need that actual coupon to do this deal.

  17. Are the 5GC’s available on SS’s website? If so what zip are you using? I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to get the regional Q but would LOVE to find it online somehow. I’ll keep checking different regions zips but will probably miss out on the deal. And I’ve already planned out my trip too totally not paying attn that the 5GC-Q was in SS and not just general 🙁 boo regional Q’s!

  18. hey Mandi- there is no printable- but the price cut lasts through the beginning of may. YOu can always use a clipping serve or go through ebay to get Qs

  19. Does the $5 GC automatically apply to the transaction or do you have that in hand when the transaction is complete?

Please forgive me for sounding silly, but I have never done the GC deals before.

  20. Hey Chrystal I am a little confused by your question. But if you are asking can you use the gift card toward the transaction you are receiving it from the answer is no. hth- if it wasn’t the answer you are looking for try rephrasing and I will try again to help 🙂

  21. Your are right Kerry.

-$10.00 (use 2-FREE $5 Target Gift Card wyb 3 Scrubbing Bubbles Products 4-11-10 SS x5/4)

This phrase for the scenario had me confused….it made me think you could turn around and pay the OOP with the gift card.

So I will have a $5 GC for my next visit then?

  22. Hey Chrystal- if you do the scenario that uses the two Free $5 Gift Card coupons- you will actually be given two $5 Gift Cards for use on your next transaction 🙂

  23. This has had me curious for a while. At my Target, you may not use a just-earned GC on the current order (the order on which you earned it). So you have to use it on a future order. Is this not how the other Targets do it? Are you allowed to have the item ring, then get the GC, then immediately use it to pay for the order? Or am I reading the deal wrong, and your applying the GC is just an accounting tracking thing, to get the net value of the deal, and you really do save the GCs for future orders?

  24. You are correct- Target Policy is that the Gift Card may not be used in the current transaction that you earned it on. I put the line into my deals to let you know what you are spending when you take the GC into account. That is why I will always put a total before taking off the Gift Card or a Rebate (I try to anyway), so you can reference your OOP before I take into account what you will be getting back in Gift Card(s) or MIR or in some cases both. hth.

  25. there was also a coupon for a $5.00 gift card in the Real Simple magazine a while back when you purchased 5 items that you could mix and match. I believe the items were raid, windex, glade, scrubbing bubbles, off, drano and shout. I might have left some out. I used buy1 get one free on glade sprays I used two coupons so this equals 4 items and then used 1 coupon for $1.00 off windex. So i got a good deal on these 5 items and a $5.00 target gift card.

  26. I wanted to comment on those who are having trouble using both the buy any power sprayer starter get a refill free and the $5 off power spray starter kit. I have two Targets that I regularly shop at (Pittsburgh area). At both Targets the computer will try not accept the b1g1 q along with a coupon for the item you had to buy to get the free item. The computer attaches the b1g1 to both items. I don’t believe it matters what order they scan the coupons. It is a common practice at many stores in this area (not just Target) not to allow this. If you give them the $5 q first, then the b1g1, the computer will say, “Item not found.” At one of the Targets I shop at the cashiers will always force the coupon through anyway and appear to have no clue why it says “Item not found.” At another Target I shop at regularly, they have recently cracked down on their coupon policy and trained their cashiers such that they will not accept both coupons. They may not have the computers set up the same way at every Target. Bottom line, at some Targets, you just won’t be able to do it, and you’re not alone.

  27. HELP!!
Target refused to let me do the Bogo coupon and the $5 off Kit coupon as well…..bummer…..should I just keep trying? My cashier and I discussed the same scenario that everyone above has discussed and they do not see how you can double two coupons onto one starter kit either….I guess I am confused on that one as well. I see it as double dipping too, because you have to actually buy the starter kit to get the free refill, but you are also using a $5 off coupon for the same starter kit….am I missing something here, Target seems right to me, but I am very new at all of this. I guess I need more clarification at how to explain my case better in case I try this again before the “deal” ends. I have the buy 3 get a $5 gift card coupon too, so I would LOVE to do the scenerio below, which is what I tried to do yesterday…..
    Buy 3 Extend-A-Clean Starter Kits, $7.99 each
    Buy 3 Extend-A-Clean Refills, $3.99 each
Using 3 of the $5/1 Extend-A-Clean coupon from the 4/11 Insert
Using 3 of the Extend-A-Clean Buy a Starter Kit get a Refill Free coupon
Using 2 of the $5 Gift Card when you buy 3 Scrubbing Bubbles Items Coupon from 4/11
And I was rejected by the cashier. She said that I couldn’t double manufacturers coupons, and since I used the $5/1 on the Extend a Clean Starter on each Starter Kit, I couldn’t use the Buy a Starter Kit get a Refill Free coupon on top of that, that would be doubling…..any help would be much appreciated!

  28. Hi Esti- the B1G1 imo (and accepted very widely at many grocey stores etc ) should attach to the item you are getting free (the refill). The $5/1 should attach to the Sprayer. At many stores- not just Target- this is completely accepted legit practice. Unfortunately I don’t know what you can do if your store refuses. You could try going to a different store if you have more than one in your area. You do have until 5/4 to try (that’s when the TQ expires) becuase the price cut on the power sprayergoes until 5/8. I hope you are able to get it.

  29. Thank you so much Kerry, I do have another Target in my area, and I’ll swing by that one and see what happens. Thanks again for all your help! Your site ROCKS!!!! And so do YOU!!!

  30. I got the same situation today. The cashier scanned the B1G1 coupons first, they went through, but when she scanned the $5off coupons, it said Items not found. Then the funny thing was, the cashier looked at the coupons carefully and said to me “oh, you need to get the STARTER KIT, not just the sprayer! You need to get the KIT!!” I explained to her that the power sprayer is the “kit”, but she kept saying I need to get the kits. And then she asked a manager come to solve the problem. The manager thought the cashier might be right (that means Target emplyees are not even femiliar with the products they are selling!) but she was very very nice to go double check for me! (The cleaning products are on the second floor) When she came back, she didnt say anything but were willing to let me use all the coupons. The sad thing was in my Targets, the refills are $4.24 each, but the coupon says “get a refill up to $3.99”!!!

I dont understand that how manufacturers set limits for B1G1 coupons if they really want to give their customers B1G1? It’s not the “real” B1G1!!!

  31. I had a recent bad experience with B1G1 + $ coupons on the head and shoulder deal (my first such transaction and it wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped it to be) and didn’t think I could handle a situation with 6 items and 8 coupons. So thank you ladies for sharing your experiences.

And thanks Laura for sharing about Target cracking down on such deals with their computers. I guess my Target’s computer has been unfortunately ‘updated’ and the cashiers ‘trained’. 🙁

  32. I’m not sure if this already answered or not but I was just wondering if two MIR could be applied for the 3 starter kits and 3 refills which would make this already sweet deal an even sweeter deal!

By the way, this site is super awesome. Target is my absolute favorite store and my roomie introduced me to this site recently and I’m hooked! Thanks for all the effort you put into this site Kerry and contributors! :]]]

  33. I had the same problems as others have noted when I tried to do this deal last night at my Target. The computer was attaching the B1G1 to both products & then the cashier questioned whether or not it was a starter kit. I had him void that transaction & just finish my second transaction because I was so frustrated. Funny thing was the computer didn’t even beep at the Ziploc B1G1 & 55 cent coupon. Go figure. I made out good anyway though getting overage on some Glade products.
