Notes on This Week’s Sale & Other Ramblings

Yes, I am aware that I ramble sometimes. Okay, so it’s often. Okay, okay so it’s daily! 😉 –
I can’t help it, but glad you guys don’t seem to mind it too much. Anyway- before I start getting into the new Price Cuts- here’s a few things I noticed while at Target yesterday. I have also noted any short term price cuts I saw that will be good for this week only.
*Price cuts may vary by region.

MISC. NOTES

Special K Crackers $1.99 (Newly Lowered Price)
$1/2 Kellogg’s Special K Crackers or Bars Shows Fruit Crisps (Excludes Singles) TQ PRINT x8/21
Newly lowered prices are definitely hit or miss at other stores. But it’s something to look for- just in case your store has lowered their price on the item too. Of course now there is no MQ on SnackPicks- but what are you gonna do? Hopefully another will come along soon.

The next time you are buying Tide- there are new hangtags I spotted on the Tide Detergent. They are Target Coupons for $1/2 any Laundry Care Products (Downy, Bounce or Tide).  So keep an eye out in case you find the same.

Hebrew National is on sale this week- and keep your eyes out for peelie coupons on them. They contain 3 different Target store coupons- one is for $1.50 Off wyb Hebrew National Beef Franks AND Pepperidge Farm Buns,  .35 Off Hunts Ketchup and .50 Off Gulden’s I got excited for a second actually because I had a special mailer MQ for $1 off Hebrew National and I had just noticed there was a new price cut of $1.09 on the Gulden’s, so I grabbed my hot dogs, went and grabbed the mustard and guess what? No Pepperidge Farm Buns anywhere in sight! LOL! 🙂 But something to look for if your store has the buns. 😉

Okay- here’s one last observation from me- it really is nothing but humorous to me and not sure why I am even telling you. But it’s probably because I ramble. 🙂 Anyway- I have a little game I play at Target every week- it’s called “Let’s go see what the Knorr Pasta Sides are priced at this week?!”. I never win- they are always all over the place! LOL Honestly- they change weekly and I find it so humourous for some reason. Yesterday I laughed right out loud when I saw all of them moved back down to $1.02 except the Alfredo which has been bumped up to $2.29! I looked all over the package to see if they were advertising some big coupon or Cracker Jack prize inside but found nothing. I also had to scan it because I just couldn’t believe my eyes- and sure enough- if you want Knorr Alfredo Pasta sides at my store- you will have to pay $1.27 extra for that one!!!

  1. I do the same thing you do with Knor sides with Kashi at Kroger. One week it was over $6 for ONE BOX of the Heart to Heart cereal. I nearly passed out. Who would buy it at that price? Fortunately, it was back down the next week but it reminded me of the old days when I didn’t pay attention to prices like I do now. Still, I think that one would have gotten my attention. Now I won’t pay over $2.50 a box.

  2. I do the same thing but for Poptarts. I think everyone is sick of my Poptart price checks and ramblings, so I know your feeling. Safeway has “sales” for Poptarts weekly with a different price. They try to get people sucked into the idea that just because it is on sale it is a good deal. It goes from near $3.00 a box to a weekly special of 5 box’s for $1.00 each…. I spend hours in the store looking at prices and I am getting so accustomed to not buying something if it’s not the price I want to pay. Even if it means I left the store empty handed…. I gained knowledge I can apply to future shopping trips!

I think having coupons is really exciting and a lot of fun saving a lot of money. (Sadly it is one of my hobbies. lol) Even when at the checkout there is 20 pissed off impatient people behind me that are angry because I have a coupon for every single thing in my cart. I just smile as I watch my total go from over $200.00 to $50.00 with additional money catalina’s for my next purchases.

    It is totally awesome…

BTW, I have been reading your posts since I started couponing but finally made my own account today and I wanted to thank you for your hard work. I have purchased most of your suggestions.

    You are Totally Awesome!!

  3. Hey Kerry, I do the SAME THING with the Knorr sides at all of my stores. One week they are $.99 and the next $1.89…. drives me crazy but my husband loves the chicken flavored noodles. Hope you’re having a great week and I finally got my site back up. But, I am missing several posts 🙁 but it is back up :). Thanks for the email.

  4. I don’t know if you posted this last week already. But at my store they had Up & Up Trash Bags for $2.47 for many different kinds.

  5. You should keep a running price of knorr sides on your site – just for kicks!!! 🙂 Keep the max target price, the lowest target price, and the current target price you have seen! It would be funny.

  6. I agree with Karen, it’s entertaining when there is something silly for the regulars to see! For example Hip2Save and the lemons, haha that still cracks me up! I haven’t seen this type of price fluctuation on the Lipton Sides but I see it with other stuff. Just a few days ago I noticed it with the Smart Ones desserts, they were all $1.89 but one was over $2! We need to see a weekly update, just for kicks!

  7. Kerry, I love your ramblings! And love your website – I check it out every day!
I have been a Target fan since visiting one in St. Louis in 1980. At that time, we didn’t have any in the Memphis area. Since they’ve opened here (in the early ’80’s), I have been a regular Target shopper. I have acquaintances who hate Target, and won’t set foot inside one. They are WalMart shoppers. Increasingly, though, I overhear people in Target swearing they will never go back to WalMart, or commenting on how surprised they are about the great grocery prices at Target. In the latter case, I usually take the time to tell them about Target store coupons online. I will start telling them about Totally Target too! Keep up the good work!
