  1. Hi,

I just want to post an update on my post earlier. I did go back to the Store and went to the guest services. I showed the Coupon policy and they were able to give me the second $5 gift card by surrendering the TQ. I am very happy. I know now that i should bring the coupon policy. hth.

  2. I had such a hard time with this deal…I bought 3 shampoos and 3 conditioners, priced 5.26 each. The cashier scanned all coupons and I received the two $5.00 giftcards. While paying I realized I paid an extra $10.00. I went straight to customer service and it took almost 30mins plus 3-4 customer service employees to check and recheck everything . I was charged for the two giftcards instead of getting them for free. After getting all my coupons, laying everything out and re-ringing everything twice, we finally all agreed the register was wrong and I was correct. So I received my money back and got the giftcards…but just wanted to warn everyone to be aware that this might happen and stand your ground (politely of course) if you know you’re correct. Hopefully everyone else has an easier time with it!

  3. i found the coupon policy and it stated here:

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):
•BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.
•A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.
•If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon may be used on the first item.
•If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.

so i will be going back to the store and show this. hopefully they will accept it.

  4. i did this deal 3 shampoo and 3 conditioner and the store only wants to accept 1 TQ, because they said technically i only paid for 3 items. =( does anyone know where i can find the coupon policy? thank you.

  5. I don’t have that many coupons, so I was just curious if I’d be able to get 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, & 1 natural instincts and still use the $5 GC coupon (with the MQ’s as well, obviously)?

  6. I did this deal and I didn’t get 2 gift cards. I was charged for the second gc. I went to customer service to fix the problem. I was told that I couldn’t get another gift card because I was only paying for there. So they have me back my $5 and my coupon.

  7. ah ok gotcha. I am not sure why they would not allow 2- says it right on the Q, but I know I am lucky that my store has a good grasp of the policy. I prob won’t get the rest of my coupons til later in the week – but wil let you know how it goes. 🙂

  8. oh don’t worry. I am not confused at all. I know that you can purchase either shampoos or conditioners. I just forgot to mention it. I was just wondering why some readers had the problem of using the (2) TQ to get (2) $5 GC in one transaction. because as what I’ve read from the above, some cashiers will only let them use 1 TQ to get 1 $5 GC per transaction when it says in the TQ that it’s a limit of 4. please let us know if you were successful on this though. thanks for your blog. really helpful.

  9. Hey Mic- so far I only have 1 TQ so I am waiting on a 2nd to do the deal but the way I have it laid out is exactly my plan. The TQ requires purchase of three shampoo OR conditioner- it doesn’t have to be just shampoo- maybe that is where you are confused? I don’t see where you are getting that you need 6 shampoos from? I have you buying 3 shampoo and 3 conditioner and I also have you using 3 B1G1 MQs, not 1. jlmk if I am not understanding something you are trying to say or ask & I will try and help.

  10. Kerry, were you able to do this deal though without having any problems? I was wondering how you can do this deal with only using one manufacturer and one target coupon if the target coupon requires 3 shampoo purchase. and the manufacturer is a BOGO. I need at least 6 shampoos for these to work so that I can use 3 BOGO MQ and 2 TQ.

  11. I’m curious to know if anyone has experienced the cashier reading the $5 GC coupon as you need to buy one of each product. The last time a similar deal came up, I had this issue.

  12. i tried this yesterday and the cashier did not let me use all 3 coupons for the pantene deal. she insisted that it’s only 1 coupon per day and that i needed to come back the following day. i didn’t want to make a fuss so used up one coupon. going back to today.

  13. tried the deal today, and I was told I could only use one target gift card coupon. I guess its one per transaction

  14. Oh, meant to add that I hope I will still qualify for the MIR. The $6.99 that came off shows up right under each of the 3 shampoos. :/

  15. I did this deal today. The cashier scanned my two $5 GC coupons first, then the BOGO coupons. The BOGO coupons each took off $6.99! I noticed after I left, however, that the $5 wasn’t taken off for one of the gift cards. It ends up being a wash though because the extra taken off for each of the BOGO coupons covered the $5.

  16. The rebate form does not state after coupons – but it does have you circle purchase price on your receipt. So just look at your receipt and what it shows as the purchase price next to the item should qualify as counting towards the rebate! hth!
