If you’re like me, you may find it pretty challenging to manage your digital photos; I literally have hundreds of photos on my camera right now! Well, Flickr is a great FREE photo-sharing site that helps you organize your photos into one place and then easily share them with family and friends.
Here’s how to get started with Flickr…
Since Flickr is part of Yahoo, you will first need to set up a Yahoo account if you don’t currently have one. You can set up your Yahoo account HERE and then follow the prompts to create your Flickr screen name and Flickr account. If you already have a Yahoo account, you can sign in HERE and then follow the prompts to set up your Flickr account.
That’s it, now you’re ready to upload photos, add descriptions, share your photos and more! You can get all the support you need setting up by visiting their FAQs page, taking a tour of the site or emailing Flickr support. There’s a whole Flickr community you can tap into for ideas and help. If you want to share your private photos with someone who doesn’t have a Flickr account, you can use their Guest Pass tool. This tool is simply a URL that you can share with your family and friends so they can see your photos. You can also connect your Flickr account to your Facebook or Twitter account, even your blogging service if you use one.
For those of you who have an iPhone, there is also a new Flickr App you can download that gives you all the great features of Flickr as well as access to new photo filters and editing tools. To download the app, you can have a link sent via text message to your phone or download thru the AppStore. Just click on “Get the App” on Flickr’s home page to get started.
While there is still lots you can do with your FREE Flickr Account, you can also try out Flickr Pro for just $6.95 for 3 months and enjoy even more benefits like unlimited uploads, unlimited viewing of your entire photo library, download your original, high-resolution photos whenever you need them, upload and play unlimited HD videos and more.
