1. @Edward- the same thing happened to me…twice. I showed them the $5 GC sign in front of the smaller lotion and they gave me $5 cash. This is a PITA but I stood my ground. I told them to take the sign down or update the register. HTH

2. i tried the deal tonight at a michigan store the giftcard came up, but the cashier wouldn’t let me use more than one coupon with the giftcard deal. I asked them if this is a new change and she said they always have been limited to one coupon per giftcard deal, but I know this is wrong is there any way to prove this wouldn’t that info be on targets coupon policy. Has anyone else have this happen? I have done other deals last month and never had any problems. I didn’t feel like dealing with it so I just left without anything.

4. Actually I just saw above the free lotion was supposed to be 10 oz but I got the 20 oz. it looks like they took off $3.99 though.

5. I did the two Dove Body Washes and Two Vaseline lotions. The CG prompted for me but the register only took off $3.99 for the b1g1 lotions. Maybe the coupon said b1b1 up to $3.99? I got the four for $1.07 each. still a really good deal.

7. Hey Edward- the signs on the 10 oz were very clear at my store- and if you had signage underneath the one you were trying to purchase- they should have honored it once it was pointed out.

Hey Kim- sometimes clearance does work, sometimes it doesn’t- I noted at the botom of my post on Sunday that clearance was not prompting for the gift card – they are not required to award a Gift Card if those particular items are not signed. I am not sure why the women’s did not prompt for you if it was not clearance- bu as far as the Gift Card goes- you are always charged for the gift card, and then it is also minused of your receipt. They have to record that they gave you a $5 gift card, since when returning items – you still keep the gift card and then the $5 is minused off the items you are returning. I would have to see your original receipt to verify that it was in fact correct- but you should see a charge for the gift card, then a deduction fo rthe Gift card, making your Gift card received a total cost of $0, yet it still has $5 on it and you still walk out of the store with it. hth

9. Hey Kallie- you can use a maximum of 2 identical Dove coupons in a visit.
   purchase = item and target alllows you to use up to 4 identical coupons per visit unless otherwise stated. Since Unilever coupons limit you to two per customer, you may use two identical. hth

10. Kallie- Each item you buy is considered a purchase so you can have equal amount of coupons per item. To answer your question, yes you can.

11. I am confused on the dove coupons. all of the dove coupons say limit 1 coupon per purchase, and Maximum of 2 identical coupons allowed in same shopping trip? I’m guessing they all say that so does that mean I can use both of them in 1 transaction?

12. I had a bad experience with this deal last night. I saw that the mens bodywash was part of the deal and saw that we had some that were marked 15% off making them around $3.86 each so I bought 4 along with 4 of the regular bodywash in 2 separate transactions. I did the mens deal first and after the 4th item was scanned, it did not prompt a giftcard which I notified the cashier that this should get me a $5 gc. She looked at the ad and said does not apply to mens (huh?) she then called the manager and the manager said, if it is marked as clearanced, it will not generate a gc. I told her that I am sure it would because I have done similar deals with clearanced stuff without issues. She said no. I said I didn’t want them then.

    So on to transaction 2 which was for the non-mens bodywash….. guess what- no giftcard prompt either. The manager said that’s because one “flavor” does not qualify. I told her that I will switch that one out. So we make the switch, no gc prompt. The cashier manually entered in my $5gc and my total came to $18 which I thought was kind of high but I paid it and looked at my reciept. I noticed that I was CHARGE the $5 gc. So here I am off to customer service to undo the $5 gc charge. I am still convinced that the manager doesn’t know what she is talking about in every aspect of this deal.

13. I bought 4 dove products (2 deodorants and 2 large body washes – not on clearance) and for some reason the GC didn’t prompt. I was in a rush and forgot about it until after I got home. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

14. Thanks so much for sharing these deals! As a beginner (fledgling? ha) couponer, this was only my 2nd time trying out the “buy ‘x’ products, get a $5 Target GC” scenario. It used to confuse the crap out of me, so much so that I just gave up trying to understand, but now that I get it….*ah*….:). Feels good! Especially since the last few times I’ve been to our closest Target, I’ve had female cashiers who were very sweet and matter-of-fact about the coupons. Actually, last night one of my deals was your “buy 2 Dove body washes, 1 (20.3 or larger) Vaseline lotion, 1 (10 oz.) Vaseline lotion” scenario, and even though the 10 oz. Vaseline lotion was just $2.94 on sale, she took the full $3.99 off. Yay for cheap (NICE) body wash/lotion!

    p.s. I saw that the women’s Dove body washes are $7.49 each @ walgreens.com. 🙂 🙂 🙂 71 cents sounds even BETTER after that info.

15. I have had a cashier at Smart & Final tell me my Qs were copied. I stood my ground and kept saying no, you must be mistaken, they are real. In the end after I left the store, I reailzed that I had printed them in “draft” mode to save ink and the Mfr. Qs didn’t show the dot pattern behind the date. The type of printer, the darkness of your ink etc.will make your Qs look different than the ones the cashiers were trained on.

17. I just left Target and all my coupons scanned except the Dove Target $2/2 personal items. I had a very friendly cashier that manually entered it. The computer beeped when it was scanned. I did 2 separate transactions and it was the same. Hope everyone has a friendly cashier because I can see it being an issue.

18. Esther – I have been having the same issue with my Target recently. My sister and I go shopping together every week, always using coupons and never having any issues. Last week when I went, I proceeded to a cashier I had been to many times and who I had never had a problem with. After ringing everything up and giving him my coupons, he treated me like a criminal. He said that my coupons weren’t valid, I didn’t buy anything that actually matched the coupons and then called a manager over to “investigate” the problem. It was a humiliating and embarrassing situation, making me never want to go to that Target ever again. I understand if they are attempting to cut down on coupon fraud, a couple bad apples make the whole group bad apparently, but there is no reason to treat us like they have and hopefully they rectify it.

20. on the target coupon it says ” limit one coupon or offer per guest”. Has anyone done this deal using 2 target coupons? It’s not worth it unless all the coupons work. (I got the lower value mfg coupons) Thanks!

21. Esther, I know the feeling you are having pretty well!

    I have a situation like that at one particular Publix that I used to shop at. I no longer coupon there even though it’s the nearest one to my house, because one particular lady at the CS Counter makes shopping there so not a pleasure. I have gotten into it with her about the very same issue one more then 3 occations. To the point that I was teaching her how to coupon and how printing them works, etc. Needless to say, there is not much you can do as each store can make the decision not to accept your coupons. I think that is why making a point to become familiar with your local stores that you will continue to coupon with and their employees are crucial. They will learn that you are an honest couponer and with your order makes their job easier. HTH

22. Don’t do deal idea 1- the small Vasoline won’t count towards the gift card. It didn’t for me.

I had a very bad situation in my Target today.All my coupons scanned for the Dove deal except the target web coupon 2$/2 dove items.The manager came and said “We cannot accept it as it was copied”.The cashier returned all my coupons saying they are copied.I don’t even know how we copy coupons.I printed them from my system.How do we handle in such situation,how can we prove that they are wrong. I am really disturbed,becoz I have been couponing from 2 yrs and my local target has always accepted all my coupons except for once or twice,but this time it was really embrassing for me and am not able to deal with this wrong accusation.
