By now lots of you should be noticing more and more toys on clearance at your stores. The clearance will keep happening over the next few weeks, and you will have to keep a close eye on it. Many of us don’t see a big drop to 70% until around the third to last week in July, but there are some stores and some select toys that will drop in price faster than others. So far there are just a couple endcaps full of clearance at mine, and lots of clearance mixed in amongst other toys in the regular aisle. Eventually many stores will migrate these clearanced toys into their own aisle(s).
What will be found on clearance can vary from store to store greatly- and while I don’t know if all the additional savings offers listed below will apply, I just wanted to do a sort of roundup for you with all the coupons and cartwheel offers out there just in case.
TARGET COUPONS: We have several Target Toy Coupons right now that you may want to print just in case. There have been several Dora toys being found on clearance anywhere from 15-30% Off- so the 20% Off Dora Toy item Target Coupon x7/16 is another one you may want to print and have with you. Lisa found the Dive and Swim Dora for 30% Off down to $15.58, so $12.28 after coupon.
There is also a $5/1 Disney/Pixar Monsters University Roll-A-Scare Playset Target Coupon x7/20 and this set has been spotted for anywhere from 30-50% Off to as low as $9.98. There are a few other Target Toy coupons to print too and you can check them all out HERE.
CARTWHEEL OFFERS: There are over 30 cartwheels offers on various toys and games ranging from 5-15% off that do not exclude clearance, so I would definitely take a look through HERE to see what interests you or applies to something you are keeping an eye on. For example- I saw a lot of Baby Alive Dolls on clearance at my store- only 15% Off so far for me but if you spot a bigger drop- there is also a 5% Off Baby Alive Toys Target Cartwheel x8/3 you can use to save even more.
I also got an email from Heather who is watching the My Little Pony toys at her store. She found the Princess Cadance toy for 30% Off down to $11.18, and there is a 10% Off My Little Pony Figures & Playsets (excl. licensed) Target Cartwheel x8/3 she’s got loaded and waiting for it to hopefully drop even more. So be sure to sort the Cartwheel offers by toys HERE to see what you may want to add.
If you are not familiar with Target Cartwheel, it is a savings program introduced by Target that allows you to save even more when shopping in-store. MANUFACTURER COUPONS: There are not many manufacturer’s toy coupons out there at the moment, but right now on the Apples to Apples Facebook page, you can print out a coupon for $3/1 Mattel Games wyb $15 Worth – Facebook Coupon (Pledge To Take A Game Break. I am not sure if any Mattel games will be found on clearance but just in case!

The toys in NE Ohio are all at 50% now…I bought a few Toy Story items (That is my son’s favorite) But I’m holding out now for the 70%…That should be next week, right?

FYI, yesterday I tried to use the 20% off Dora coupon with a Dora Potty toy that was 50% off clearance and the system wouldn’t accept it. I tried to force the issue with the cashier but just gave up as I was holding up the line.

Target won’t price adjust for clearance items. You could certainly return the item, and if there is another on the shelf, you can re-buy it at that price. They won’t let you return it and then rebuy it for cheaper.
Katherine- I have done this. Just keep your receipt. I just did this with that Dora Swim and Dive. Brought in receipt with the coupon and got 3$ back.
I shop this sale every year, but this year im am so busy during the month of july. I was wondering if I could buy the toys early and then return/exchange when they are marked down lower and recieve the difference?
My kids are getting leap pads for their birthdays in sept. I found the skins in purple only on clearance for 50%, down to 4.99, and 2 games for 50%, one Tinkerbell, and one Jake and the Neverland pirates. The leap pads will be free after all of my gift cards I have been saving. Yea!
I got the deal on the Monsters University toy where it was marked 50% off to $10 with the $5 coupon, making it only $5. But beware that it only comes with one character. If your kids are going to want a second character so they can race, the individual characters are $7 alone.
This might have already been addressed but I haven’t caught up on the blog yet. I’ve found Tag Reader book sets like The Human Body, US Map, and a Learn to Read “Consonants” sets all on clearance for 50% with peelies on the box for $5 off a box set. They are normally $20! So an easy 75% without even waiting for markdown day! YMMV but I’ve seen them at 2 stores in KC!
