checkout51-topbannerI’m excited about this new, FREE savings app –Checkout 51, a fast and easy way to save money on the brands you buy & try by earning cash back on purchases! Similar to ibotta, Checkout 51 also has some unique features and… you do not need to have a smartphone to take advantage of this great app!

In addition to the app that works on both Android and Apple devices, Checkout 51 also works on your computer. If you do not have a smartphone, you can upload your receipts thru the website. Also, you only have one week to redeem the offers as every Thursday morning Checkout 51 updates with a new list of cash back offers.

Here’s how Checkout 51 works…

  1. Browse offers on the list – remember, every Thursday morning, the FREE app updates with a new list of offers.
  2. Buy products at any store – just pick the offers you like, and purchase at any store. But remember, offers are available in limited quantities so check your offer list before you go to see if it’s still available, and upload the receipt immediately after purchase to avoid disappointment.
  3. If you have an android or log into the website, you can look for an upgrade on select cash back offers. Just watch for an “upwards” arrow next to the cash back amount and the word “Upgrade” in blue in the description. Currently, this feature is not available for the iOS app but they are working on it and hope to release it soon.
  4. Upload your receipt using the FREE app or your computer – be sure its a clear, readable photo. Photo-taking tips and guides are available in the app and on the website.
  5. Get cash back from your Checkout 51 account when the balance reaches $20 in the form of a check.

Key points to remember: A quantity of (1) of each offer is eligible for cash back per member • Each receipt can only be used once • You are permitted to use Checkout 51 cash back offers with any other coupon or discount unless otherwise stated • Items purchased from online retailers are eligible for cash back. Packing slips are accepted as proof of purchase. Online purchases are subject to the same submission timelines as receipts.

There are several great offers available now on Checkout 51, so head over here and sign up today to start saving! Once you upload your first receipt of $20 or more, Checkout 51 will add a $2 bonus to your account. Currently, there’s a universal offer for -$1.00 Cash Back on Any Gallon of Milk with Checkout 51 x1/15.

Here’s a sample list of other offers you might get when you sign up for Checkout 51:

  1. Hi Ellie- as I mentioned above- many of the offers listed most people will have- butit is possible for them to vary somewhat. hth

  2. When you sign up for this do they give everyone the same offers or are they based on where you live I have never gotten the frosted flakes offer only the mini wheats thanks

  3. Is there a time frame limit for when the items are actually purchased? For example, if I bought a quart of blueberries last week and this week’s offers include blueberries, can I upload last week’s receipt? Or does it have to be within the same timeframe as the offer?

  4. If the same offer is given the next week, can you upload a different receipt?
For example, I bought the Glade Plugins Scented Oil Customizables Starter Kit last week and uploaded the receipt. If I bought another one this week (with a different receipt), would I be able to claim it?

  5. If you enjoyed the offers that are returning – yes you can do them again with a new receipt. You can do them once during the week – when they return you can do them again in a new week. hth

  6. Are the offers limited to once per week or once per “lifetime”? IE- if I did Belvita 2 weeks ago can I do Belvita when new offers start on Thursday?

  7. Hello all,

My name is Andrea from Checkout 51. Thanks for all of the awesome comments you have posted. We really love hearing our member’s feedback.

I wanted to respond to all of your questions concerning privacy – both in relation to the app permissions and your personal information.

All logs and reports that are supplied to us relate solely to our app and are only used to improve the user experience. In order for your phone to receive push notifications (ie. pop-ups on your phone about receipts being processed, special offers in your neighbourhood, or other notifications) the app needs to be able to read your phone status and identity.

You can customize your push notifications by going to your profile by tapping the person in top left of your screen and then tapping the gear in the top right to get to your Account Settings page. From there, you can choose which notifications you’d like to see.

We also know that you are concerned about sharing your name and address with us. Unfortunately, for us to be able to send you cash back we need to know your name and address for accounting and banking reasons.

Our members’ privacy is incredibly important to us, which is why we’ve worked so hard to come up with a privacy policy that is clear and easy to read. You can see the whole thing here:

If you have any other questions feel free to read our help desk here:

Thanks for being such awesome members. 🙂

    Happy saving!

  8. I have never tried any *cash back* sites before. I am tempted to try this one.
Just that I am not comfortable giving my personal information and/or full address such websites.
Can someone please share info on all the possible risks involved?? thank you.

  9. Anyone else look at the permissions the app asks for? Seemed… Alittle concerning. It will get full access to all phone calls (even if they connected or not), network permission, permission to find accounts on my phone, etc… Hm…

  10. Donna– IE will remain your default browser unless you physically change it. If you use a different browser than the default, it will usually ask if you want to make it your default – just say no and then continue. You can have more than one browser available. I keep a couple on both my phone and computer for times when one isn’t working, etc. HTH.

  11. Dayna– I believe you can submit the same receipt again so long as its not for the same item. After you scan your receipt, you are prompted to select the item for which you are submitting so they will know its a different item. And as long as you are meeting the required timeframe, you should be okay.

  12. I tried uploading my receipt but it just kept spinning and nothing happened. I am using Internet Explorer. Has anyone else had problems using Internet Explorer?
It states you need to use Firefox and a few others, but I don’t know how to download Firefox or if I even want to if it will change my default browser I already use (IE).

  13. I think I’ll give this one a shot. I always see stuff posted about Ibotta, but haven’t downloaded it yet. Question, in terms of the receipt being used once, can an offer be added after the fact and the receipt be used? If you added one offer and bought it, and bought something else and realized it was on the list, can you still add it and use the receipt for both? I haven’t taken a look at the interface yet to see how it works.

  14. I always black out my membership number with a sharpie when submitting a Costco receipt and have not been refused.

  15. I just black out the four numbers with a sharpie. I have never had a receipt refused for not showing the last four card numbers.

  16. Jennifer – I’ve never thought to be worried about giving these apps the last 4 digits of my card. Guess it’s a reasonable concern, but I guess you could just use cash if you wanted to.

  17. A little off topic but I was wondering if anyone has ever had any problems/reservations about ibotta or this new app. I’m nervous to take a picture of my receipt and send it to someplace even though it only shows the last 4 numbers of my card.

  18. @ Jen-I redeemed the ibotta bread offer with a loaf of MP wheat bread. When I first scanned the barcode, it came up as “not a match” so I had to send in a picture of the upc and they added it.

  19. Question- had anyone redeemed the bread offer from ibotta with a market pantry loaf? When I scan the barcode it doesn’t accept it.

  20. Can you double dip with Ibotta and Checkout 51? So if I buy bread and both have $0.50 back offers for them, would I be able to redeem for both?
