Valentine’s Day clearance should now be at 70% for some of you if your store has anything left. Mine was pretty sparse even as of Sunday- I think everything they had left could have fit in 4 carts 🙁 so I did not make a trip today, but Kelley has just a ton left this morning at her Elicott City, MD store. I can’t believe how many pillows, small toys, infant clothing, baking trays & more that she had! If your store has not dropped to 70% yet, it is likely many of you will have the drop to 70% tomorrow.
So if your store looks anything like hers, you may want to dig around and see what you can find. Despite her signs being a little mish-mash – some saying 70 and some saying 50, all non-candy and non-food was 70% Off for her when she checked at the scanner. It is ALWAYS a good idea to check the price at the scanner. Some stores just don’t manage to get to their proper signage, and you will never know if you just walk away.
For example, her Friskies Love Packs were signed at 50, but ringing up 70% Off. Unfortunately the Friskies Cartwheel does not work on these treats, however- it still makes for an awesome deal if you have any left…

I am super-shocked at how much candy she has! It is just crazy- and again some of her signs still said 30% off, but all candy and snack foods were at 50% Off for her when she checked at the scanner.
The Valentine’s M&Ms and Dove and other Mars candy were all down to 50% Off for her with as low as $1.59 for M&Ms if your store is at 70/50. If you’ve got lots of candy left too, here’s the coupons out there to help sweeten the clearance deals…

What can be found will vary from store to store, but definitely worth taking a good look around for anything you might want to stock up on for next year. And be sure to scope out other areas of the store. Check in home & housewares, and check in the regular grocery aisles too just in case- and also check out the clothing departments and baby too. While many items that are holiday get moved to the holiday clearance section- sometimes things get left behind.
For example Kelley found a whole rack of these cute Toddler Tees down to $1.80 if your store is at 70. Sometimes things are obviously Valentine’s but others are quite subtle- so look around for other possibilities you may want to scan just in case.
Also to check – there are 2 certain LEGO sets that are part of the Valentine’s Day clearance. These were originally back in the holiday section, however Kelley found quite a few up at the front registers mixed in. SO if you don’t find any in the back- it can’t hurt to check up front just in case. If your store is at 70% Off- they will be as low as $1.04.
In the regular kids drink ware aisles Kelley found these cute tumblers mixed in with the others. There was a couple different kinds mixed in and they will be scanning as low as .44 if your store is at 70.
She also found a BUNCH of kids plates and bowls mixed in with others in the regular aisle. Not all are ringing up 70, but above are the ones she found at 70% off down to as low as .44 and there may be more.
One thing you can take a look for is the price sticker on the undersides of products. Just watch for the little white heart in a black circle like shown to the right which will usually indicate that it is part of the holiday clearance.
As far as a next drop to 90% Off- if history repeats we should see it as early as February 19th, but remember, there is no set schedule and stores can differ, so keep a close eye! Friday (2/20/15) still 70% at 3 Targets in Central Florida (from Davenport to Orlando). One was 70% on everything, another was 70% but 50% on food.

@Laura – Thanks for the update! I figured candy could go down to 90% at some point but it is just VERY rare to see any left (even at 70%) so that’s probably why it doesn’t go down lol! But either way, the difference from 70% to 90% isn’t really that much of a big deal, so I’m not going to miss out on stuff! I am heading to my store today to check and hope for the best! Last time I was there was Monday night and it was 30% candy 50% toys/etc. So hopefully today we are at 90% toys and 70% candy!
90 percrnt off today in Fayetteville GA
I went in yesterday at around 3 p.m. In Ohio. I found Honey Hibiscus Body Lotions 5oz. (hand variety too but smaller ounces) also Vanilla and Berry Flavored Lip Gloss at .30 each. They are in the Dollar Spot. Small plastic bag bead sets for a necklace or bracelet making too.

Almost forgot! @ Julia: Candy/food items never go past 70%, however there could always be an exception to that rule ~ lol! Last year, (wish I’d written the date down!) I had a cart full of goodies as they salvaged. All of my items ending up scanning unknown by the system, so when I checked out, the cashier was told to manually apply the 90% discount for all items, including candy. 🙂 I’m sure that was a fluke that won’t happen again, but who really knows?!? HTH! 😀
I did quite well in the short time I was there this evening, but didn’t have a chance to look for everything b/c I had to bring my grandson to TWD. I was thrilled to find the Party Mix cat treats for $1.19 ea, so I used my MOB Q & the $1/1 MQ from the 1/25 RP (I did 2 transactions to not go over T’s limit of 4 qs per day). I also discovered a wonderful heart blanket, a couple of table cloths for my dad & a couple of kids’ plastic cups. I guess I should have scanned the bowls & plates, but they didn’t have the little heart on the bottom. I plan to hit my other T in the morning & will be hoping for 90% off! 😀 I just couldn’t pay 70% off when I know 90% might be tomorrow ~ lol! 😀
My guess it will hit 90 by 19 or 20th the latest. They are already trying to make room for easter.

The candy only goes to 70%. I have timed it right a few times when toys, etc. went 90%. Candy was always 70%.

I went today and it was 70% off. I found some deals on things I haven’t seen on Totally Target yet. In the kid’s dishes section (which is in the regular kitchen section), it is not just plates/bowls 70% off, it is also the matching cups (several different kinds of kid cups). I got some plastic cups with plastic lids and they have a curly straw. I found that anything with the robot with hearts, dog with a heart nose, or cats with heart noses were 70% off (Monster & Fox stuff not on sale)- all of the bowls/plates/different types of cups associated with these designs were 70% off. Also, a 4-pack of Hot Wheel cars with hearts all over the box and says Valentines on the front, a medium sized stuffed My Little Pony in a cardboard pail (candy attached), didn’t look V-day at all, mystery bag Doc McStuffin’s “Doc’s Toy Friends” (also doesn’t look like a Valentine thing), Nerf N-Strike Jolt guns (I found orange and green, not V-day at all), My Little Pony Pop sets (not V-day at all), lots of Nordic Ware Bake Seasonally Sweet items- heart cake pop set, cookie cutter and stamp, frosting decorator set, large baking sheet, cake pop holder, Beneful Baked Delights Heartfuls dog treats (in a big heart shaped box).
I was able to find the City Lego sets on sale but didn’t see any of the Friends sets. I got a lot of other stuff but the above is what I found that was more of a “hidden” find. Hope it helps someone out! 🙂

Hidden find- minion socks in the girl sock area. They have four different styles, all in two packs. Some are red with hearts and some are more neutral. They also had minion slipper socks ringing up 70% off. They were orange with white hearts.
Has anyone gone today yet? I will stop there later this afternoon (have my grandson home from school), but wondering if it’s worth the trip yet? I am only interested in 70/90% off, but really don’t need any more candy. We still have a bunch left from Xmas! 😀 Happy hunting, Y’all! 🙂

Anyone check if their 50% off stores had fallen to 70% off today?
I know that food/candy goes 30/50/70% and regular items go 50/70/90 but does Candy ever hit 90 after 70? I know typically it is very rare for any locations to have candy/food left even at 70… but just wondering. Should I get it at 70 because it won’t make it to 90 due to Target getting rid of it? Or will it be around at 90% when the items/toys go if no one buys it?
If someone could find that heart rug at 70% i would totally send money via paypal! i want one of those rugs so bad =[ found some at 30%….which was a no no for me.
Went to Target today and all Valentine’s items are still at 50%. The candy did drop to 50% too though. Maybe tomorrow we will see the drop to 70%. 🙂

Today is Mardi Gras here, so I’ll check tomorrow. I called my store, though, & they were still only 30/50%, but I’m glad b/c that gives me a better chance to score some good deals. 🙂

Somewhere I put my recipt….I’m guessing at prices so they wont be exact but close. Spongebob bubble whistles were about 1.00. My little poney pop its were around 1.00 Sofia the first playdoh sets were 2.00.
Marvel avengers and disney planes magic ink pads were 1.49. All these items did not look Valentines at all. Can be used for Easter basket fillers. Any leftover Target spot items were 50 percent off. Also found lego sets hidden for 1.04. Good luck
At my Long Island store I was able to find 1 of the Lego friends ice cream pack, a bunch of Sofia the first and clover play doh packs for 2.09 each ( I only snagged 2), a mini valentines loom kit that was like 1.69 and a frozen mini board for 1.50. All the food was 50% off so I snagged the last 2 gold fish V day bags because my kids love those! Overall not a bad trip 🙂
