If you prefer to skip the carving, there are lots of ways to just decorate a pumpkin too. Decorating a pumpkin is also a nice safe way for little ones who want to participate.

pumpkinsMy son Austin & I decorated the mummy pumpkin shown to the right last night and it was quick and easy to do. We took long strips of toilet paper folded over a few times and wrapped it around a pumpkin and secured with first-aid tape. (You could also use rolled gauze if you had some on hand.)

I added a couple large moveable eyes I had purchased at a crafts store a while back, but you could always draw eyes on paper and cut them out and glue them to your pumpkin. We think he came out super-cute!

You can also find some more pumpkin decorating ideas HERE from Betty Crocker. And, you can head over HERE for some cute pumpkin costume ideas 🙂 –Thanks This Old House! And you can also go HERE for some fun ideas on painting & decorating a pumpkin and more (-Thanks LilSugar!).
