FREE & Discount Activities for Kids and Families

Here are some FREE & Discount events going on this weekend. Many may seem to have consistent national participation- but it is always wise to call your local location to be sure they are participating.  

michaels1-15MICHAEL’S KIDS CLUB:  Check out Michael’s store events for fun craft activities. Kids can make and take home a completed project– cost varies by project and includes supplies (usually in $2 – $7 range). Recommended for ages 3 and up. This Saturday, January 16th – kids can make their own Snowman Mobile, cost of supplies will be $2. Just go HERE and scroll down to see a schedule of events.

BABIES ‘R US: If you’re expecting, then check out Babies ‘R Us on Saturday, January 16th from 11 am – 12 pm! They will be holding a Registry Party with games, giveaways, and more. You can create or update your registry with personalized help, mingle with other parents-to-be, and more. Just go HERE for more details and to reserve your spot.


potterybarn1-15POTTERY BARN: Kids can enjoy Story Time, every Tuesday from 11am – 11:30am– check out program details HERE. Members will receive a special gift after attending five sessions. Watch for special story time events as well!

NATIONAL PARKS FREE ENTRANCE DAYS: In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, over 100 National Parks will be waiving their Entrance Fees on Monday, January 18th only. You can go HERE for a list of National Parks and more details. Plus, did you know that Active Duty Military members and their families can get FREE admission to National Parks year-round? Military ID is required. For more details, you can go HERE.

lakeshore1-15LAKESHORE LEARNING CRAFT: Saturday, January 16th from 11 am to 3 pm — Kids can make their own Wacky Scientist Headband! Join the fun every Saturday with FREE crafts for kids at all locations. LIVING SOCIAL: Another good resource for great deals and discounts in your local area is Living Social. You can head over HERE to check for deals on all kinds of things including kids’ activities, entertainment, dining out, travel, etc. Just enter your zip code or city and state.


BARNES & NOBLE: Saturday, January 16th  at 11 am — You’re invited to a special storytime and activities featuring the story I’ll Never Let You Go. Check your local Barnes & Noble store for participation and other events. Just go HERE and enter your zip code.

supertarget-cookieSUPER TARGET: If you live near a Super Target with a bakery, you can get a FREE Fresh Baked Cookie for your kids! The next time you go shopping, just ask one of the bakery employees for a FREE cookie for your child. You can go HERE to check for Super Target locations.

GROUPON: Sign up and receive a daily email from Groupon with coupon offers for savings up to 90% in a city near you. Visit the Groupon Site, choose your city and enter your e-mail.
