FREE & Discount Activities for Kids and Families

Here are some FREE & Discount events going on this weekend. Many may seem to have consistent national participation- but it is always wise to call your local location to be sure they are participating.

national-parksNATIONAL PARKS: In celebration of Earth Day, all entrance fees at National Parks and Monuments across the country are waived through Sunday, April 24 for National Park Week. You can go HERE to find a park near you and get more details.

POTTERY BARN: Kids can enjoy Story Time, every Tuesday from 11am – 11:30am– check out program details HERE. Members will receive a special gift after attending five sessions. Watch for special story time events as well!


michaels4-21MICHAEL’S KIDS CLUB:  Kids can make and take home a completed project– cost varies by project and includes supplies (usually in $2 – $7 range). Recommended for ages 3 and up. This Saturday, April 23rd – kids can make their own Tissue Paper Tie-Dye Art, cost of supplies will be $2.

Plus, this Friday, April 22nd from 6 to 8 pm, families can Tie-Dye shirts together and the supplies are free, all you have to do is buy the shirts. Just go HERE and scroll down for more details and to see a schedule of events.

LOWE’S BUILD AND GROW: Mark your calendars and register early for the next workshop! Thursday, May 5th at 10 am — Kids can build their own chalkboard planter! All Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinics give kids a chance to build a wooden project and receive a free apron, goggles, patch, and more! You can go HERE for more details.

SUPER TARGET: If you live near a Super Target with a bakery, you can get a FREE Fresh Baked Cookie or opt for a healthier option and choose a FREE piece of Fruit for your kids! The next time you go shopping, just ask one of the bakery employees for a FREE cookie for your child. You can go HERE to check for Super Target locations.

Saturday, April 23rd from 11 am to 3 pm — Kids can make their own miniature greenhouse and then watch a  real sunflower take root! Join the fun every Saturday with FREE crafts for kids at all locations. DISNEY STORE: Captain America In-Store Event — Saturday, April 23rd at 10:30 & 11:30 am, & 12:30 pm, and on Sunday, April 24th at 12:30, 1:30 & 2:30 pm. Dress up as your favorite Marvel Super Hero and come learn how to draw Captain America’s shield. For ages 3 & up. No lineups prior to 30 minutes before event begins. Event only at select locations. LIVING SOCIAL: Another good resource for great deals and discounts in your local area is Living Social. You can head over HERE to check for deals on all kinds of things including kids’ activities, entertainment, dining out, travel, etc. Just enter your zip code or city and state.

b&n4-21BARNES & NOBLE: Saturday, April 16th at 11 am — You’re invited to a special story time and activities featuring, Where’s the Party?! Check your local Barnes & Noble store for participation and other events. Just go HERE and enter your zip code.

GROUPON: Sign up and receive a daily email from Groupon with coupon offers for savings up to 90% in a city near you. Visit the Groupon Site, choose your city and enter your e-mail.
