Here are some FREE & Discount events going on this weekend. Many may seem to have consistent national participation- but it is always wise to call your local location to be sure they are participating.

BARNES & NOBLE: Saturday, May 21st at 11 am — You’re invited to a special story time and activities featuring 2 stories, Mom School and How to Babysit a Grandma! Check your local Barnes & Noble store for participation and other events. Just go HERE and enter your zip code.

DISNEY STORE: Saturday, May 21st from 10:30 am to 1 pm — kids are invited to attend a special hat decorating activity to help the Mad Matter get his “muchness” back! Ages 3 & up, no lineups prior to 30 minutes before event begins. Check your local store for participation. You can go HERE for more details.
POTTERY BARN: Kids can enjoy Story Time, every Tuesday from 11am – 11:30am– check out program details HERE. Members will receive a special gift after attending five sessions. Watch for special story time events as well!
LAKESHORE LEARNING CRAFT: Saturday, May 21st from 11 am to 3 pm — Kids can make their own Twist & Twirl Spinner! Join the fun every Saturday with FREE crafts for kids at all locations. LIVING SOCIAL: Another good resource for great deals and discounts in your local area is Living Social. You can head over HERE to check for deals on all kinds of things including kids’ activities, entertainment, dining out, travel, etc. Just enter your zip code or city and state.
MICHAEL’S KIDS CLUB: Kids can make and take home a completed project– cost varies by project and includes supplies (usually in $2 – $7 range). Recommended for ages 3 and up. This Saturday, May 21st from 10 am – 12 noon, kids can make their own Dreamcatcher. Cost of supplies: $2. Just go HERE and scroll down for more details to see a schedule of events.
HOME DEPOT: Saturday June 4th from 9 am – 12 pm – Kids can build their own Father’s Day Trophy Smart Phone Holder. Kids get to keep their craft, receive a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron and a commemorative pin while supplies last. You can check out the details HERE.
GROUPON: Sign up and receive a daily email fro Groupon with coupon offers for savings up to 90% in a city near you. Visit the Groupon Site, choose your city and enter your e-mail. Each day they feature something cool to do in your city at an unbeatable price. FREE OR CHEAP SUMMER MOVIE FESTIVALS: Take a break from the hot sun this summer and enjoy a movie with the kids for FREE or at a great discount! Just go HERE and check out my post for a roundup of what’s available this summer.
CHUCK E. CHEESE: If you’re headed to Chuck E. Cheese this summer, check out their website first for coupons and other offers. They also have some cool rewards calendars on their website that you can download that kids can complete to earn FREE tokens! Plus, kids 2 & under eat FREE with the purchase of an adult buffet at participating locations. Three is a limit of one FREE kid buffet per purchase. NATIONAL PARKS: If you’re a fourth grader, you and your family can receive an “Every Kind in a Park” pass that will give you free access to hundreds of parks, lands, and waters for an entire year! Just go HERE for more details.
SUPER TARGET: If you live near a Super Target with a bakery, you can get a FREE Fresh Baked Cookie or opt for a healthier option and choose a FREE piece of Fruit for your kids! The next time you go shopping, just ask one of the bakery employees for a FREE cookie for your child. You can go HERE to check for Super Target locations.
FREE & DISCOUNT ADMISSIONS COURTESY OF TARGET: Target sponsors several community events including FREE and discount admissions to arts and cultural events & institutions nationwide. Many of these events are free and on a monthly schedule. Just go HERE and scroll down to where you can choose your closest city to find FREE and reduced-price Target events near you.
