Gillette, Satin Care & Venus shave gels are all included in this week’s offer for a FREE $5 Target Gift Card wyb 3 select P&G Personal Care. This is great news since prices start at just $2.97 for the Venus & Olay. There is a nice high-value insert coupon you may have to save $2/1.

This may be a money maker for some of you out there, but many, if not most Target stores have updated their system so that when there is a gift card deal, each item’s value is now reduced by the value of the gift card divided by however many products you have to buy. While it doesn’t net you a money maker- you will be able to grab this shave gel FREE…

DEAL IDEA: Buy 3 Venus & Olay Shave Gel ($2.97) = $8.91
-$3.91 (use three $2/1 Gillette/Venus/Satin Care Shave Gel 9-25-16 PG x10/22**
= $5 – $5 Target Gift Card Back for buying 3 thru 10/22
= 3 FREE Shave Gels after coupons & Gift Card

**NOTE: this is because the register “sees” the value of each product as being $1.31 – $1.32 due to the $5 gift card you are earning. ($5 divided by 3 is a $1.66-$1.67 reduction on each item’s value). This leaves you with a maximum coupon deduction of $1.30 – $1.31 per item or a total of $3.91.

You can read a more in-depth explanation of this register update and see an example of a receipt on my post HERE. If you have not experienced this update in your area- that’s great and it will be a money maker since the register will take off the full value of your coupons.

Even if you don’t have the insert coupon, there are quite a few printables out there which will still net you a great deal on shave gel…

DEAL IDEA: Buy 3 Venus & Olay Shave Gel ($2.97) = $8.91
-$2.25 (use three 75¢ OFF ONE Venus Shave Gel 7oz or larger
= $6.66 – $5 Target Gift Card Back for buying 3 thru 10/22
= $1.66 for 3 or just .55 each after coupons & Gift Card

  1. I called and spoke with corporate today. He told me they are having a lot of errors with coupons and the fact that there was a gift card shouldn’t have changed the face value of the coupon. He issued a gift card to me making up for the error and said to call if it happens again.

  2. nothing wrong with what they are doing. Wouldnt be surprised if they do away with the GC deals next year. They are losing money.

  3. It didn’t beep. We noticed it on our receipt. Also, Target should not be allowed to reduce the value of a manufacturer coupon when it is used on a promotional gift card deal. Are they turning in the coupon for full value while reducing the value to the customer? This also happened with the Covergirl deal. Each item separately was over the value of the item ($3.00 off each item). The value of the $3.00 coupon was lowered not because the value of the item was lower but because the customer earned a $5 gift card. Is Target turning in the manufacturer coupon at full value or are they turning them in for the value they adjust down to the customer? I understand Target doesn’t even need to accept coupons, however, they should be upfront on their end.
