  1. Thanks for your reply to my question about the Walmart coupon! I love your website. Thanks for all you do!

  2. Hi Dana- it might make more sense to try and figure out how the register sees the value of an individual item vs a total to know if it will affect your coupons.

so you would take whatever the gift card is and divide by however many items you have to buy and deduct that figure from the cost of that item. If the coupon value is higher than the number- that is were T’s registers won’t give you a maximum deduction. so for example you get a $5 Gift Card wyb 5 Pledge. $5 divided by 5 = $1 deduction per item.

If you buy a Pledge Item that costs $4.09 – the register sees it as costing $3.09. Your coupon is valid for $2 so you are fine. If your coupon had been say for $4/1 – the register would have only deducted $3.09 because that is what it sees as the value of that item.
    Does that help any?

  3. I guess I’m not fully following, I’m sorry! Let’s say i buy five pledge products at $4.09..so my total is $20.45. Because of that gift card, is the register seeing my total at $15.45? That’s where I think I’m confused at.

  4. Hi Dana I do know what yyou are talking about & it will not affect the pledge deal using $2 coupons.
I do have 2 posts where I discuss the register update if you want to ck them out

and then a more in depth explanation & receipt example here

I hope that clears it up a bit for you but after you read them througgh if you have any questions plz feel free to comment again & I’ll be happy to try and explain more

  5. The pledge coupons say they should be redeemed at Walmart. Can they be used at Target? Thank you!

  6. Hey Kerry! So I’m still trying to figure out that whole $5 gc deduction thing that you recently posted about. The one where they’re deducting $5 wyb so many items to get a promo gc. Know what I’m talking about? If you do, does this apply to these as well? I’m so confused with the whole thing and dont understand if there’s some exclusion for certain items or anything. Thanks much!
