Here are some FREE & Discount events going on this weekend. Many may seem to have consistent national participation- but it is always wise to call your local location to be sure they are participating.
LAKESHORE LEARNING CRAFT: This Saturday, 5/27, from 10 am-3 pm, kids can make their own Patriotic Windsock! You can join the fun every Saturday with FREE crafts for kids at all locations. For a complete calendar of events, check out their website HERE.
GROUPON: Sign up and receive a daily email from Groupon with coupon offers for savings up to 90% in a city near you. Just visit the Groupon site, choose your city and then enter your e-mail. Each day they feature something cool to do in your city at an unbeatable price. SUMMER READING PROGRAMS: Summer is just around the corner- and there are several organizations and companies offering special incentives to help encourage children to keep reading over the summer. DISNEY STORE: Check out your local Disney Store for FREE in-store events, including Story Time, Trivia, Movies, The Art of Drawing, and more. Just go HERE to find a store near you and give them a call to see what’s happening this weekend!
BARNES & NOBLE: This Saturday, 5/27 at 11 am, head over to Barnes & Noble for a special story time featuring Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie! Just go HERE and enter your zip code to find a store near you and check out future events.
POTTERY BARN: Kids can enjoy Story Time, every Tuesday from 11am – 11:30am– check out program details HERE. Members will receive a special gift after attending five sessions. Watch for special story time events as well!
SUPER TARGET: If you live near a Super Target with a bakery, you can get a FREE Fresh Baked Cookie or opt for a healthier choice and get a FREE piece of Fruit for your kids! The next time you go shopping, just ask one of the bakery employees for a FREE cookie for your child. You can go HERE to check for Super Target locations.
KIDS BOWL FREE: Check out your local bowling center to see if they are participating in the Kids Bowl Free program. Registered kids will get TWO free games of bowling EVERY DAY throughout the summer! Policies and age restrictions can vary by location so be sure to check out all the details. You can go HERE to register.
CHUCK E. CHEESE: If you’re headed to Chuck E. Cheese this summer, check out their website first for coupons and other offers. They also have some cool rewards calendars on their website that you can download that kids can complete to earn FREE tokens! Plus, kids 2 & under eat FREE with the purchase of an adult buffet at participating locations. Three is a limit of one FREE kid buffet per purchase. SUMMER MOVIE PROGRAMS: Summer movies are a great way to take a break from the hot sun, eat some popcorn and enjoy a movie with your kids! And, many large theaters participate in FREE or very inexpensive Summer Film Festivals with fun titles like A Dog’s Purpose, Trolls, The Secret Life of Pets, The Emoji Movie, Goosebumps, The LEGO Batman Movie, and lots more. NATIONAL PARKS – JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM: The National Park Service Junior Ranger program takes place in almost all parks and is appropriate for kids ages 5 to 13, but people of all ages can participate. Junior Rangers are given a series of activities to complete during a park visit, share their answers with a park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger patch and certificate. MICHAEL’S KIDS CLUB: Kids can make and take home a completed project– cost varies by project and includes supplies (usually in $2 – $7 range). This Saturday, 5/27, kids can make their own Patriotic cookies! Cost of supplies is $2. Recommended for ages 3 and up. Plus, from 1-3 pm, kids and their families can make crazy tulle headbands or customize patriotic slime! For the headbands, you’ll need to buy the tulle but the rest of the supplies are FREE, and the Slime supplies are FREE as well. Parent or guardian must remain on premises. LIVING SOCIAL: Another good resource for great deals and discounts in your local area is Living Social. You can head over HERE to check for deals on all kinds of things including kids’ activities, dining out, entertainment, local activities, travel, etc. Just enter your zip code or city and state.
FREE & DISCOUNT ADMISSIONS COURTESY OF TARGET: Target sponsors several community events including FREE and discount admissions to arts and cultural events & institutions nationwide. Many of these events are free and on a monthly schedule. Just go HERE and scroll down to where you can choose your closest city to find FREE and reduced-price Target events near you.
