Target Price Match Guarantee – What You Need to Know!

One of the things I really love about Target is their Price Match guarantee! If you are shopping this holiday season, the good news is Target also has a Holiday price match guarantee. While their regular guarantee only extends two weeks, the holiday price match stretches it for a longer period of time (all the way thru Christmas Eve)!

This means you can rest assured that when you buy, you’ll get the best price for the season. When you purchase an item, if you see a lower price before Christmas, you can request a price adjustment.

There are a few things you need to know before requesting a price match. First, you will need to show proof of purchase. Second, if you are requesting a price match from a competitor, you have up to 14 days to do so (remember during the holidays you will have thru December 24th). There are only select competitors that Target will price match, including Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Ulta, Walgreens, Walmart and quite a few more.

Third, Target will only price match the EXACT same item and it has to be a current lower price. Target will need to verify by viewing the current listing online or viewing a printed ad. To make your request process go smoothly, bring in proof via a digital or printed ad and your receipt if you already purchased the product.

Target will price match in 48 states, Hawaii and Alaska are excluded. There are also some exclusions from the Price Match Guarantee at Target. Here is what is EXCLUDED: clearance, closeout, damaged, opened, used, liquidation sales, pre-owned items, Target Plus Partners, and erroneous listings. 

This also includes items that had some sort of error in the listing. Competitor’s doorbusters and lightning deals are also excluded. There are also a few additional exclusions, such as items from Circle and gift card offers. There are a few additional exclusions, and you can check out the full policy online.

While the regular price match guarantee is 14 days, keep in mind over the holiday shopping season the time frame is extended all the way thru December 24th! This means you can buy with confidence knowing if the item you buy pops up in an Early Black Friday or Holiday Best deal at a lower price, Target will price match it for you!

How to price match? If you are shopping in store you can request a price match at checkout and if you are shopping online you can call 800-591-3869 or use Target online chat. Just make sure you have proof of the lower price on hand.
