Target Mobile App: Checking Out TargetLists

targetlists3The Target shopping app, available for both android and iPhone users, is a great resource that can save you time and money by offering Daily Deals, Weekly Ads, a Barcode Scanner and more. But one of the features I find really useful, is the TargetLists.

More than just a resource for baby shower or wedding registries, TargetLists allows you to create a list for any person, event or occasion. You can create shopping lists or wish lists for yourself, gift lists for family and friends, or even a list for holiday gifts you need to return. The possibilities are endless and there is no limit to the number of lists you can have in the app.

If you haven’t yet downloaded the Target app to your smartphone, go HERE and choose your device. Or text “APP” TO 827438 (TARGET) to receive a download link. Note: Message and data rates may apply. Once you have the app, you’ll need to sign in to use the TargetLists feature with the email and password you created to set up your account. Just pull on the tab at the bottom of your screen and tap on Lists and Sign In.

To create your first list, tap on the + sign. Then name your list and tap Create. You’ll notice that your list is now added to the main screen with the registries. You can open it at any time by selecting it. You can add items either by using the search window at the top, by browsing, or if your smartphone has a camera, you can tap the barcode icon at the top of your screen. In my book, this beats handwriting a shopping list any day!

targetlists1
If you choose to browse, a list of departments will come up. Each department is then organized into categories and even sub-categories if need be. To find what you’re looking for, pick the category and a price list comes up with details like whether its sold online, in the store or both. Tap on the item again, and it will tell you more details, what aisle its in if its sold in-store, and what stores near you have it in-stock. This is also where you can select  the item and add it to your list. To select more items, you can use the back arrow at the top to find the screen you need. You can also pull on the tab at the bottom and select “Lists” again if you want to review your list.

targetlists4I created a list just for Target Grocery to help me get my coupons organized before I shop. And now, I don’t have to make a new list each week. I just open my grocery list and check it twice! I can edit at any time – whether its to add items or remove them. To remove an item, just tap on the circle to select the item and then tap on “remove got items”. You can even choose to delete the list from this screen or change the title by editing the settings.

You can sort your list by name, price or even by those items you have already gotten. The barcode at the top can be shown to your cashier at checkout after everything has been scanned and it will automatically update your list with purchased items.

With holiday clearance coming up, you could make a wish list for all the items you hope to find on clearance. We all know it pays to be organized and get there early for those clearance markdowns. You can use my Christmas Clearance Prep List to help you make your wish list and grab all your coupons.

If any of you have had experience with using TargetLists, please feel free to share any tips or advice in the comments that may be helpful to other readers.

The Latest Clearance Finds This Week at Target 11/8

Here’s what many of you have spotted on clearance this week along with any coupon matchups I could find. Remember- clearance can vary greatly from store to store– there is no guarantee you will find the same or for the same discount. But I try & list specific varieties, prices & other details when I can, since not everything gets stickered and sometimes it’s worth a quick scan to check.

Keep sending us those emails and photos of your clearance finds and we will try to include them in our Thursday roundup whenever possible. Contributions are always appreciated!

HEALTH & BEAUTY: Many of you are still seeing lots of Dove Men+Care Body Wash, Shower Tool and Soap Bars on clearance for up to 50% off. I’m keeping watch at my store and hoping we will see bigger drops as mine are still sitting at 30. Target Halloween Clearance Up to 90% Off & My Trip!

Halloween clearance should now be at 90% Off for most of you if not all of you if your store has anything left. I know some of you saw the drop to 90% yesterday but if yours hadn’t yet, today should be the day for most of you. If y’all were wondering why  I got such a late start today- it was because I was busy shopping! 🙂 There were baby bibs and apparel, costumes, costume accessories, a few paper goods, decorations, trick or treat bags, craft kits and more left at my store so it was a great day.

I know many of you have stores that there was barely anything left at, so I know I am fortunate to find as much as I did at mine this morning. Almost everything Halloween was at 90% Off for me, and candy and some food was at 70%. Just a quick note too- if you don’t see signs for 90% at your stores, it certainly can’t hurt to scan and double check. While not all stores may go to 90 and there may be a few stragglers, you never know if your store just hasn’t gotten around to their signs yet if you don’t scan.

I felt like I had a great trip- the only thing that made me sad was that despite getting there at 8:20 am- every single box of Count Chocula was swooped off the shelves, but there was plenty of Frankeberry & Booberry- for just .29 cents each. Plus I had heard the catalina machine has been popping out $1.50/3 General Mills Cereals catalinas, so I paid for 3 first, then was lucky enough to get the catalina, and used it in my next transaction, making the next 5 cereals I bought in my second transaction FREE.

So this last pic above was the final results of my trip today. 🙂 I bought 8 boxes of cereal- 4 of which will go in a Food Donation box I have going, a Toy Story Woody Costume for a friend of mine for only $3, Tissue paper for .19 cents, spider webbing for .30 cents, and some other great buys. My favorite finds today were the Huge Frankenstein Wall Sticker for $1.49 and an Eerie Eyeball Light Kit for $1.79, an Owl pail for .20 cents, and I also loved my adorable Jack O Lantern pillow for just .99 cents.

Between the cereal catalina, the $1/2 Pillsbury Baking Items Target Coupon, and some .35/1 Pillsbury Mix manufacturer coupons from the 11-4 RP I had- I only spent $21.62 and saved a whopping $193.59! 🙂 I hope many of you have/had some luck at Halloween clearance this year too!

While it will be very hit or miss today- if you are headed by a Target- you may just want to pop in and see what you can find that you can tuck away for next year! Good luck & Hapy Hunting everyone and let me know what you find!

Halloween Clearance Up to 70% Off & Candy 50% Off

Quite a bit of Halloween clearance should now have moved to 70% Off for many of you today if it hasn’t already. All stores are not on the same schedule so it may not be all of you but many of you will find 70% Off on children’s and adult costumes, Halloween Craft Kits, select Halloween costume accessories, lights, decorations,  disposable tableware, treat bags and more up to 70%.

Kelley found some select decorations, accessories & lights still sitting at 50% Off, but much of Halloween was 70% Off this morning for her and I hope many of you find the same. Also be sure to check the Dollar Spot at your stores for Purple dot merchandise to be up to 70% Off. There is some non-Halloween purple dot items too but still at 70% Off, so be sure and check this section. Candy should also have moved down for many of you from 30% Off now down to 50% Off.

And don’t forget to scan, scan, scan! Not all stores get their signage up- so while the signs may be right- you will never know if they are wrong unless you scan. 🙂 We should see another drop to 90% Off Halloween in the next few days- usually around November 6th or 7th. Let me know if you find/have found anything good!

End of July Target Toy Clearance- Up to 70% Off

I bet most of you know where I have been all morning. 😉 Yes- I did make it to Target this morning- and that empty aisle with a big range of % Off signs I posted about on Tuesday, was now full and all I saw were 50% Off & 70% Off signs. So I was very excited, but started to realize that the shelves were really not that full. Once I got done in the 70% Off aisle I started wandering into the regular toy aisles only to find that there was still a LOT of clearance on the regular shelves and very surprising- a lot of it had bumped to 70% Off. Several Polly Pocket items that had just sat there at 30% Off for weeks were now 70% Off, Moxie, Sprites, Liv  and more all now 70% Off but in the regular aisles.

So I would definitely cruise the entire toy department if your 70% Off section looks slim to see what else you can find. And be sure and scan scan scan! Not everything gets stickered 70%, and it takes just a minute to go give an item a quick price check. It is getting harder to shop for Austin these days now that he is getting older and has clearer ideas of what he likes and doesn’t, but I did stock up  on a few girl items for friends. I was also able to use my last $5/2 Polly Pocket coupon (no longer available) to get 2 small Polly Pocket sets for FREE as they were marked down to $1.78 each.

I felt that the sale at my store was very disorganized this year- but I know they got a late start for whatever reason. But I can’t complain- I was happy to get what I did and ended up spending $18.63 for $80 worth of toys after my $5/2 Polly Pocket coupon.

And I know not all of you will find the same thing I did- I stopped at my Little T on the way home and no consolidation in sight and only 50% Off in the regular aisles with just a few random items at 70%, so I am happy about what I was able to get this morning and will keep an eye on my Little T. As usual I got a very vague answer from Team members, so it’s up to me to watch. For those of you who found more toys marked to 70% Off today- let me know how you did in the comments!
