I love Recycle Bank because it is so easy to earn points to get some terrific coupons. The Green Your Home Challenge will be ending in a few days on 4/30 and if you haven’t explored all the ways to get points you might want to check them out. If you aren’t quite sure what to do, you will need to first log into or create a Recyclebank account and then click on the “earn points” tab. Look for the “Green Your Home Challenge” link and click on it to be taken to a page that will have a house blueprint towards the right side.
Now click on the house plan and you will see different areas highlighted as you move your mouse including the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom, the yard and the bathroom. Different items in each room will have a yellow + sign that you can click on to learn about different ways to make your home more environmentally friendly. Sometimes you will just need to answer a question and then click on “get my points”. Super easy!
You also have the opportunity to get points by uploading a photo in each room for showing ways to reuse & recycle. For example- to get my additional points for the bathroom photo, I uploaded a picture of my hand soap dispenser. This is a foaming handsoap bottle that I bought around 3 years ago! Instead of buying new handsoap, I just take a small amount of antibacterial dishwashing liquid and add water to refill it. It makes very inexpensive foaming handwash that also saves on a lot of plastic! Sharing your photos is a great way to inspire someone else, so be sure to upload your ideas in each room. Recycle Bank will also pick a winner from the photos submitted to win an Earthscape Structures playground set!
