  1. I was able to sign up for both the savings and checking to get the bonus’s. 18 year old daughter was only able to sign up for the savings account. Even though she already has a checking and savings (with way more money than me – haha!) she doesn’t have any credit yet, so she was denied for the checking account. Thanks for sharing the good deal.

  2. I would have to agree with Tali, the customer service department informed me that they will run your credit.
The reason for the credit check is that the checking account has to have an overdraft protection and in order to qualify you have to have at least decent credit; or else you will get denied.
No where on the small print do they state that at all. I had to be on hold for 15minutes in order to obtain that information. Bummer.

  3. I did this promotion and got the bonus when they ran it this summer! Thank you for posting :-). I found them to be very straightforward on their website about the requirements.

  4. I did a similar offer like a year ago and had no problems. I did the transactions they requested and got my bonus! I would do it again in a heartbeat.

  5. I find Capitol One banking to be very deceptive. I can only speak from my personal experience and in my opinion, so just read all the terms & small print.
