If you prefer to skip the carving, there are lots of ways to just decorate a pumpkin too. Decorating a pumpkin is also a nice safe way for little ones who want to participate.

pumpkinsMy son Austin & I decorated the mummy pumpkin shown to the right last night and it was quick and easy to do. We took long strips of toilet paper folded over a few times and wrapped it around a pumpkin and secured with first-aid tape. (You could also use rolled gauze if you had some on hand.)

I added a couple large moveable eyes I had purchased at a crafts store a while back, but you could always draw eyes on paper and cut them out and glue them to your pumpkin. We think he came out super-cute!

You can also find some more pumpkin decorating ideas HERE from Betty Crocker. And, you can head over HERE for some cute pumpkin costume ideas 🙂 –Thanks This Old House! And you can also go HERE for some fun ideas on painting & decorating a pumpkin and more (-Thanks LilSugar!).

Pumpkin Doughnut Holes with Cream Cheese Filling

pumpkin-donut-holesToday Yammie has a nice recipe for pumpkin doughnut holes filled with cream cheese – perfect with a hot cup of coffee as the temperatures begin to drop.

Cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves mix with the pumpkin to make a sweet treat with all the flavors of fall. They are crunchy on the outside and super moist on the inside. The cream cheese filling nicely balances out all the spices in the doughnut!

You can check out the recipe with instructions on Yammie’s post HERE. They are easy to make and a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth!
