Copycat Whatchamacallit Candy Bar Recipe!

Have you ever had a Whatchamacallit candy bar? If you have, then you know how good they are! If not, basically it’s chocolate and caramel over peanut butter crisps.

It’s a delicious combination, and you can make a copycat version at home that is even better! This version uses Peanut Butter Captain Crunch cereal as one of the main ingredients, with a marshmallow coating to give the candy bar crunch and texture.

You won’t need a lot of ingredients, and you do need to make the layers separately. However, the end result is well worth the few steps involved in making this Whatchamacallit candy bar copycat recipe.

These bars not only make for great desserts, but a nice pick me up in the late afternoon. Plus, it’s a fairly economically way of enjoying these tasty candy bars at home!

You could also gift these to a neighbor, take to a potluck, or just have a tray on hand for family game night. They are such a versatile sweet treat to make too! Just make sure to have some milk on hand :).

You can check out the complete recipe for these fabulous Whatchamacallit Candy bars along with more photos and step by step instructions over on SheSaved!

Ordinary Angels Movie Review (Opening in Theaters February 23rd!)

Do you love heart warming movies based on true stories? I am thrilled to share my Ordinary Angels movie review with you! It’s such a heart felt and motivational film!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post done in partnership with Ordinary Angels and Kingdom Story Company. All opinions are 100% my own.

Based on a true story, Ordinary Angels is about a hairdresser who finds purpose and meaning after she reads a newspaper story about a recently widowed man whose daughter needs a liver transplant.

Ordinary Angels Cast

Starring Hilary Swank as Sharon Stevens, Alan Ritchson as widower Ed Schmitt, and Tamala Jones (you may recognize her as Lanie from the TV show Castle) as Rose. Nancy Travis also has a major role as Ed’s mom.

Supporting cast includes Drew Powell, Amy Acker, Skywalker Hughes, and Emily Mitchell.

This film was so well cast, from starring roles to minor parts!

About The Movie Ordinary Angels

This film beautifully tells the story of hairdresser (Sharon Stevens) who loves to drink, party, and have fun. Her friend Rose confronts Sharon about her addiction and gets her to a meeting in an attempt to make her realize she is out of control.

After the meeting, Sharon decides she needs a purpose to help her focus on getting her life in order. While in line at the grocery store, she reads a newspaper article about the Schmitt family. Ed Schmitt is recently widowed with two children, and his youngest daughter is in desperate need of a new liver.

Sharon feels impelled to do something, so she starts off by doing a fundraiser. As she discovers just how steep the medical bills are and how far in debt the family has become, she gets more and more involved. This leads to her getting the community to work together to help the family out.

My Ordinary Angels Movie Review

It is rare when I will rewatch a movie soon after watching it the first time. I watched Ordinary Angels four times in a matter of weeks! I really want to go see it again when it hits theaters on February 23rd. It’s THAT good!

This is an emotional movie, so have tissues on hand! There are some intense moments as well as a few light-hearted moments that seem to come just when you need it.

I can’t say enough about the acting in this movie. While Hilary Swank’s portrayal of Sharon shines, Alan Ritchson as Ed Schmitt, Tamala Jones as Rose and Nancy Travis as Ed’s mom all give outstanding performances.

This film is inspirational, motivational, and powerful. I think you will really love this movie as much as I did! This is also a movie I intend to eventually add to my personal DVD/Blu-ray collection when it becomes available. I rarely do this because of all the streaming services out there. However, I feel this is one I will want to watch enough to have on hand.

The fourth time I watched this wonderful film, I found myself still holding my breath in a few scenes as if I was anxious for the outcome! There are some great take-aways from this movie, including how finding your purpose can make a difference.

Super Easy and Totally Tasty Blue Goo Pie Recipe

Today I’m going to show you how to make Blue Goo Pie, one of my favorite go-to desserts. I usually have all 5 ingredients on hand.

Creamy, delicious, AND you can switch a few things up based on your preferences!

Blue Goo pie slice

I’ve made this pie several different ways, and this one is my fave. It’s a big hit at family gatherings, and I usually make two because it disappears fast!

Blue Goo Pie Ingredients

Blue Goo Pie Ingredients

  1. Graham cracker crust (I use pre-made but you can make your own)
  2. Cream cheese 8 oz
  3. Sugar 1 cup
  4. Cool Whip 8 oz
  5. Can of blueberry pie filling

How to Make Blue Goo Pie

To make the pie, let the cream cheese soften for about 15 minutes at room temperature. Beat the cream cheese and sugar till mixed well. Fold in the Cool Whip and spread into your graham cracker pie crust. Top with pie filling and chill til set.

Whole Blue Goo Pie

The one can of blueberry pie filling will be a bit much, so you can always double your other ingredients and make two pies by being a bit conservative with the pie filling.

While my personal favorite is to use blueberry pie filling, you can swap out for cherry or strawberry if you prefer! I tend to do this a lot around the holidays, and sometimes for Independence Day or Memorial Day I will make one blueberry and one cherry to keep with the red, white, and blue theme.

This pie is also versatile and somewhat forgiving, as you can not only swap out your pie filling, you can also make other substitutions. Instead of using 1 cup of sugar, you can use 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar. And, you can swap your Whipped topping for a package of Dream Whip made according to directions.

Blue Goo Pie with whipped topping

You can also put a layer of sliced bananas on the pie crust before adding the cream cheese layer.  Decorate with extra whipped topping or Redi Whip to give each slice a bit more flair!

This is such an easy recipe, and once it sits in the fridge the sugar will finish dissolving into the cream cheese and whipped topping. The end result is so creamy – like a very light cheese cake! You can also use a bit less sugar OR add a bit more whipped topping to lower the calories.

When I really want to lighten it up, I just double the whipped topping and it still makes for a very satisfying dessert.

If you prefer, you can always make your own topping using fresh blueberries. Just mix two Tablespoons of corn starch with 1/2 cup of sugar in a pan. Add 2 cups of fresh blueberries, 1/2 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and cook over low – medium heat til thickened. Let cool before topping the pie!
