recipe

Love Chinese food but tired of the same old take out? Ashley has a tasty recipe for Asian style sticky ginger chicken that will have dinner on the table in about an hour. Most of the time is spent marinating, so you could do this step the night before to save even more time.

The marinade gets lots of flavor from grated ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar and more. After marinating the chicken, it gets added to sauteed ginger and thai red chili. A few more ingredients get added and then it all cooks for about 20 minutes til done and the sauce is thickened. You can check out the complete recipe with instructions on the post HERE.

monster cookies
Halloween is almost here, and if you are wanting a dessert idea that will satisfy your sweet tooth without quite so much sugar, Michelle has a great recipe for not-so-scary monster cookies.

This recipe uses sugar substitute in the dough, but does have a few chocolate chips & chocolate candies in the mix. In about 18 minutes, you can have warm, fresh from the oven cookies – perfect with a tall glass of cold milk or your fave hot beverage. You can check out the complete recipe along with instructions on her post HERE.

mummy-dogs

We have a new Target Cartwheel offer available that’s good on the ingredients to make mummy dogs. The cartwheel even includes the recipe and instructions on how to make these fun Halloween themed version of pigs in a blanket.

I tried this recipe out, and while the instructions called for baking at a temp of 475, I set mine to 375 instead. I also used a base of ketchup with a dot of mustard for a bit spookier look. If you want to try making these too, the steps are simple…

  1. Unroll Pillsbury crescent roll dough and separate the 8 triangles to create 4 rectangles. Pinch perforations together so that your 4 rectangles are smooth.
  2. Cut each rectangle into 10 pieces for a total of 40 strips.
  3. Wrap 4 strips around each hot dog to look like bandages, stretching the dough as needed.
  4. Bake 13-17 minutes at 375 or until light golden brown. Use mustard and/or ketchup dots for eyes.
